"Although the booking is advertised as Hotel Punta Leona, it is actually for Apartamentos Arrecifes rather than a room in the main hotel. This should be made clearer, as the apartments are farther away and require transportation, an important detail for families with young children or elderly travelers or anyone requiring a wheelchair. We also experienced a 40-minute delay at check-in because the room was not ready (partially compensated with a late check-out). Upon arrival, the apartment did not appear thoroughly cleaned, beach towels were missing, and the room phone was not working. Additionally, check-in takes place at the main hotel, about a 5-minute drive away on a poorly maintained road. The apartment includes a kitchen but lacks basic cookware. Air conditioning is limited to the bedrooms, while the living area only has ceiling fans. On the positive side, there is a supermarket within a short 2-minute walk."

"This property is dated and was super disappointed there wasn’t breakfast but it was clean, quiet and safe. With DIRECT access to Jaco beach. This hotel is located at the south end, which imo is the best area for swimming and surfing. There is a large area to each if you bring food. The pool is nice. Staff was very friendly. One reviewer said it was a 10 min walk to town. That is by the beach NOT on the street. There are not many restaurants within walking on street. For breakfast we drove 8 min into town. Same for dinner. I would stay here again and recommend but be aware you will need to eat outside of this hotel. They do not have breakfast or restaurant. "
