Ideal location to stay with family or friends, close to two beaches, three pools and other services such as restaurants and butterfly garden. Property needs maintainance at some parts. Road to the resort is full of holes and needs to be repaired. Reception staff at check in was not friendly, on the other hand others were. A bit more interest in the guests would lead in to more returning guests.

We really liked the property. Lots of animals to see. Enjoyed the free animal spotting walk. The pool and the beach were nice and make sure to go to playa Blanca. Great breakfast.

We had an excellent stay at Punta Leona! The rooms were comfortable and very well maintained, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. Every single staff member we interacted with—from reception, room service, the restaurants, the bars, and the entertainment team—was incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive. Their warm hospitality truly made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The resort offers the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. We especially enjoyed the birdwatching and butterfly activities, where the guides were knowledgeable, passionate, and friendly. Between the nature walks, beautiful beaches, pool activities, exfoliation sessions, and excellent gastronomy, every day was a wonderful balance of exploring the jungle and ocean while also taking time to unwind. We highly recommend Punta Leona to families and to anyone looking to experience Costa Rica’s natural beauty in a peaceful, relaxing setting.

I booked this place for easy access to Playa Blanca by car. Super helpful and friendly staff. The reception staff is available 24/7. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked great. We got the Selvamar Superior room with a king bed for one night. The room was located a very short drive from the main resort area. We had a small balcony where we cold enjoy the birds singing in the trees. There is a small pool within walking distance with a buffet restaurant and sushi restaurant but we opted to go to the restaurant at the main resort with a menu for dinner. The resort was quiet, probably due to the rainy season, but the pools in the main area are large, there is direct access to Playa Mantas, and lots of other amenities. I'm not really a resort type of person but it was nice for a night.

Our experience at Punta Leona was below expectations, especially considering the price. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the beaches are naturally beautiful, but several maintenance and operational issues had a significant impact on the overall experience. The private access road has many uneven and sunken areas, and some of the facilities feel neglected. In our room, the air conditioning did not cool properly and leaked enough water to soak part of our luggage. The shower also had drainage issues. The food offering felt too basic for the prices charged. For example, the pizza seemed to use a pre-made crust similar to what you would find at a supermarket. Parking is another area that could be improved. There are not enough proper parking spaces, and some of the additional options are basically open lots that become difficult to access without going through mud when it rains. Finally, while Playa Mantas is beautiful, there was quite a bit of trash during our visit, which takes away from what should be one of the property’s strongest attractions. The hotel has a lot of potential, and the friendliness of the staff is definitely a positive, but better maintenance, cleanliness, and consistency are needed for the overall experience to match the price.

All properties are well kept. The apartment was spotless. The resort amenities are nice. Courteous staff. Playa Blanca is the highlight, can miss the beautiful site.
