"Southern Cross was a quaint place to stay in, thatched building with sloping floors and uneven walls, typical of a very old building. The room was a little dark and the only point i would criticise was the ensuite had no wash basin in it as there was one in the room itself. But not very hygienic after using the toilet! Lovely staff and lovely breakfast."

"It's a nice place, staff are friendly. Food's ok but a bit steep (£3.30 for a black coffee). TV in the room was a nightmare to turn on. Our room was on the ground floor, right next to the main road, so if you're a light sleeper you'll be awake earlier than expected."

"Amazing property. Lovely owners. We had a stressful trip due to a breakdown of our vehicle but as soon as we arrived it was stress free and very relaxing. Lovely area. Lovely enclosed garden. Hot tub was great. Really enjoyed our stay and will be aiming to stay again!"

"We were only there one night and didn’t eat there in the evening but breakfast was excellent. Room was spacious with excellent open plan bathroom facilities. Pleasant walk into Sidmouth ( approx 3.5 ) miles round trip Ticked all the boxes for what we needed. Would stay again"
