Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo
10/10 Excellent
"We enjoyed a great family stay. Comfortable beds and room for all 5 of us.
The pool was great. Really appreciated the covered kids pool. Though would have like to see more shade/umbrellas at the pool. Or less people (who seemed to never show up) saving those seats with towels.
The swim up bar was a great feature and all who work there were friendly and kind especially to our kids and their seemingly non stop pina coladas.
All the food was good. Though disappointing to buffet other than at breakfast. From what we understood this was due to lower occupancy. Although the daily buffet theme was still advertised on the activity’s board.
Live music at the 5 o clock somewhere bar was excellent both nights we went.
The beach is beautiful and only a few steps across a sandy road to get there. Security guys happily got us chairs when we asked.
Location was great with the marina and bit of shopping close by. Felt safe to walk.
Definitely would stay again at Margaritaville Playa Flamingo "

Hotel El Manglar & Cantarana
10/10 Excellent
"The staff was outstanding! Yorya, Dylan and Andrea were consistently personable, friendly, and particularly helpful, answering all of our questions and assisting us with virtually all of our plans! The location in Palm Beach Estates was ideally situated, where a short walk on a shaded path led to a wonderful, expansive and nearly private beach. The grounds at Hotel El Manglar were quite lush and well maintained. The swimming pool and surrounding deck areas were equally well maintained. Our room had a small kitchen which was well-equipped, offering us everything we needed for light meals and beverages. Our room was comfortable and clean, with linens and supplies replenished every other day. The bed was quite well-dressed and comfortable.
We were worried about not having a car during our stay and discovered that it was not an issue! An 18 minute walk south on the beach brought us to an estuary system, which was easily crossed by water taxi ($2.00 U.S,), dropping us into the bustling beach town of Tamarindo. Its streets were lined with a variety of restaurants and quaint beach shops featuring local artisans and souvenirs. Once there, we could easily reach a bank and 2 small grocery stores. We took 3 excursions that required transportation, and those arrangements were seamlessly handled by the wonderful El Manglar staff (mentioned above).
We very much hope that a return trip will be in our not-too-distant future! Pura-Vida!"

RipJack Inn
10/10 Excellent
"The location and vibe was perfect for us! The room was simple, neat, clean and they honored our request for a room with the couch. The bathrooms could use an update or refresh. They are dated. The restaurant was delicious and a nice surprise in this sleepy town. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Took advantage of yoga which was great. The pools are very small but lots of lounges, hammocks, ping pong and a great lending library! Will definitely return to this sleepy but fabulous town! "

Conchal Hotel

"The room was very comfortable and spacious. Our children enjoyed the pool which was clean and well cared for. We ate three meals at the restaurant which were all great. The staff were all friendly. We saw iguanas and monkeys in the courtyard which was also fun. Highly recommend."

"Sunset Villa truly lives up to its name with breathtaking sunset views we enjoyed every evening. The layout is perfect for groups, with a private casita (full kitchen, living room, king bed, bath), a main house with three king en-suite bedrooms plus a half bath, and a separate bungalow/primary suite with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows. The main house has a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living areas, smart TV, strong WiFi, and excellent air conditioning. Outside, the infinity pool and whirlpool (not heated) offer incredible sunset views, along with a large outdoor dining table and lounge area.Beach access is via stairs and leads to a beautiful sandy beach (some rocks at low tide). We even watched New Year’s Eve fireworks from the beach.Notes: Hand soap is provided, but bring shower toiletries. Plenty of towels, but no beach chairs or umbrellas. An amazing stay with unforgettable views. Highly recommend!"
