"Big Meadow is rustic luxury in a beautiful setting. Much like the other lodges/inns along the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway, it offers a great place to land for a few days to hike, explore or just take in the majesty of the Shendandoah's. The rooms are comfortable set among the trees and property. The dining options are a good value. You can get breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks in a variety of ways. The people were very friendly and accommodating. It was just a terrific place to unwind and unplug (wi-fi and internet are almost non-existent in the rooms but you can catch up, if you must, in the lodge and the TV only gets 11 channels). For us, it was EXACTLY what we were looking for."

"The room was clean and comfortable, however very basic. No frills. We did enjoy the extra space. The floor above was squeaky so when other guests were awake, it was difficult to sleep. I would recommend the Oakhurst Inn's convenience to the University of VA. With accommodations so tight in Charlottesville, the Oakhurst provides a better stay for the price than many of the other hotels."

No info in room re: where fitness center was. Computer in dining room did not have an attached printer?"
