Relax with ultra-fast Wi-Fi and three 55” Smart TVs, perfect for streaming or quiet movie nights. Both bedrooms offer restful spaces to recharge after a day in the mountains.
Beyond hiking and adventure, Yancey County is known for its vibrant arts scene. Spend an afternoon in nearby Burnsville or Little Switzerland, exploring local pottery studios, glass-blowing workshops, artisan galleries, and farmers markets that celebrate Appalachian craftsmanship and small-town charm.
From sunrise over the ridges to star-filled mountain nights, this home is a cozy, well-located base for experiencing the best of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Yancey County.
SPECIAL NOTES:
Amenities: Guests enjoy access to the heated saltwater pool (open June through August, weather permitting) and the clubhouse, conveniently located across the street. The clubhouse offers a pool table, game and family room, dining area, shuffleboard court, book library, and an outdoor fire pit — all open seasonally from April through October.
Home: The home is a townhome with one attached home. We provide high-quality mattresses (we value a good night's sleep), cookware, linens, and towels for your stay. We also provide all the essentials (and more) for a very comfortable stay. However, please keep in mind that depending on the length of your stay and usage, you may need to replinish your supplies.
Area: This home is located in the beautiful mountains; access roads are fully paved and serviced in the wintertime. However, please note because of the location of a mountain home, unexpected weather events can occur that might affect the internet or power (this is rare). The closest town center is 25 minutes away (Burnsville) and is located approximately 90 minutes from Asheville.

The accommodations were lovely. Bedrooms were spacious and living area very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. The host was extremely helpful before and during our stay. Highly recommend staying here.
We loved the property and the surrounding area. Beautiful views with easy access to Mount Mitchell and the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is very comfortable and met all of our needs. We would definitely stay again.
Great 2 bdrm townhome with beautiful views. It was wintertime so the clubhouse amenities were winterized but we look forward to coming back in the warmer months. Very clean, well appointed kitchen / linens / baths, and great communication with owner. 5 stars! Be prepared for a windy drive and its tucked away from the bright lights of town, but the stargazing made up for it.
Everything about the property was as listed. The views are amazing! The owner was very helpful and friendly. We loved our stay and would stay again. Great vacation spot.
Place was great. It had everything you need to make meals. Road leading to house is paved which is good a good thing. Every room had a view of the mountains which I loved.
Wonderful views of the mountains! We enjoyed our stay at this home. The owner was accommodating and friendly and answered all our questions promptly. The home was clean and the beds were comfortable. About a mile outside the village, we hiked to Roaring Forks waterfall, which was beautiful and an easy hike. We drove to Mt. Mitchell and ate a delicious meal overlooking the valley. If you want to find a quiet and relaxing place, this is it!!
One caveat-the drive is challenging on 80, so get there in the daylight hours. Burnsville is a quaint mountain town about 30 minutes north of the house. We enjoyed shopping, barbecue lunch and watching glass making and buying some pottery. Lots of sweet mountain memories made here!
We’ve been coming to Alpine Village for 40 years, probably our 12th stay. Cherokee 2 was as nice as any of the units we’ve stayed in before. Very clean and everything we needed to enjoy our mountain vacation. Chris was very communicative and answered any questions we had promptly. Can’t wait to come back.
Nice quiet getaway in the Blue Ridge Mountains, with great views. The property is close to the Blue Ridge Pkwy.
House is comfortable with large TV and Wi Fi.
The host was very helpful.
