"The staff were friendly and welcoming, any issues were resolved quickly. The room was clean and more than adequate for my stay although it was a little tired around the edges, blind was fraying and the paint could do with a little refresh. I didn’t use any of the other facilities, however the bar area looked clean and spacious and clear signage around the hotel to help you navigate."

"Stayed in a junior suite. Very tired room. Bed comfy but carpet needed a wash. Furniture very worn and dirty in places. There was black mould around the corners of the bathroom ceiling . The shower needed descaling. The shower curtain was black around the bottom. The shower curtain plastic rings broke. The room had a horrible musty smell and didn’t smell fresh. The window frames on the inside were black with bits of black everywhere. Didn’t enjoy the experience at all. Breakfast was included but didn’t want to experience that. "

"For the most part the hotel was great. The reception staff were great except for one member who was unhelpful and rude. There was a stain (looked like blood) on the under sheet and this member of staff on the desk seemed nonchalant. The restaurant staff were amazing at breakfast especially Lin."

"Perfect location! Less than 10 min walk to the Cardiff Central Railway Stsation a just crossing the street and you’re in the City Center shopping Center , loads of coffee shops , restaurants and less than 10min walk to the Castle. Being in Center , easy access to pick up points for day trips j. Clean , relatively new building, comfortable bed and pillows , huge room and the price not bad for such location"

"Superb staff, a wonderful welcome. Room was spacious and bed super comfy. A historic building so decor and some of the fixtures in need of updating, but tbh that’s what gives The Angel its charm. I’d definitely stay again and highly recommend."

"Bed was uncomfortable, mattress needs replacing. Reception told us they'd been replaced in some rooms not others. Shower was cramped and too low so I had to stoop. "

"Rooms are a bit run down, location is great for being so close to Cardiff bay. Staff are lovely and friendly and the bar is cosy. Breakfast was decent."
