The best area to stay in Borgo Sant'Agata is the historic centre, particularly around the Church of Sant'Agata and the main piazza.

This area is the heart of the village, characterised by its narrow, cobbled streets and traditional Ligurian architecture. You'll find a selection of local shops, trattorias, and cafes here, all within a short stroll of each other. The main piazza offers a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy the village life.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will find the historic centre particularly appealing. The intimate setting, with its charming lanes and historic buildings, provides a memorable backdrop for a holiday. You're perfectly placed to enjoy leisurely meals and explore the village on foot, with stunning views of the surrounding olive groves and the sea often just around the corner.

For those seeking a more secluded and tranquil experience, the outskirts of the historic centre, perhaps a little further up the hillside, offer villas and guesthouses with breathtaking panoramic views. These properties often come with private terraces or gardens, providing a peaceful retreat while still being a short walk from the village amenities.

The best time to visit Borgo Sant'Agata is during the late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) months.

These periods offer the most pleasant weather, with warm but not excessively hot temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the Ligurian coastline and hills. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience at popular attractions and restaurants. The sea is also warm enough for swimming during these times.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking or cycling, late spring and early autumn provide excellent conditions. The trails are less crowded, and the natural beauty of the region, including the Cinque Terre and Portofino, is at its peak. It's a great time for couples to enjoy scenic walks and al-fresco dining.

Travellers looking for a quiet escape will also appreciate these shoulder seasons.
