An absolutely amazing local hotel, restaurant, and campground. Everyone at the hotel was friendly, courteous, and helpful, and we loved every aspect of our time (two nights - wish it could have been longer). The food at the Rock-n-Troll pub was excellent and the views of the surrounding natural beauty were peaceful and magnificent. 6 stars out of 5 (and no, I'm not being paid for this review)

It was a bit more remote than I thought. It was raining and dark which made it harder to navigate especially when crossing a one lane bridge. Probably a better place for hikers/campers with kids.

Great stay in quiet location.

We stayed 2 nights as part of our Iceland ring road trip. Communication was great. Parking a breeze. Excellent staff for check-in. Room overlooking water cascades. Included breakfast was very good.

Short & sweet stay at Fossatún Country Hotel. I really liked my accommodations, perfect for what I needed for a one night’s stay at the hotel. Plus, breakfast was delicious. It is quite a bit far from the town of Borgarnes though, so make sure you pickup your food/snacks before venturing out.

The property is in a beautiful location right above the troll, but is pretty dated. Ratty towels and old beds and rooms, might be a good place for a family looking for a deal. The trolls and rock ‘n’ roll theme were a little off, but again fun for kids. Nice to have a hot tub with geothermal water at the end of the day, but there were no views and bright lights in the hot tub area, not very relaxing. Breakfast was decent.

Stayed in the rooms with private bathrooms. Liked the property - next to a small stream with a small but wide waterfall. Convenient if you are exploring the western peninsula of Iceland. Room was nice and the modest breakfast buffet was great. I would stay here again if I was travelling to western Iceland or on my way further north.

The area around the hotel is beautiful, and we wished we had more time to explore the trails. We booked two cabins (two couples) and both were comfortable. The cabin was equipped with kettle, fridge and even a microwave. There was also a heated towel rack. The breakfast selection was adequate.

Our stay here was fantastic. The owner was wonderful and helpful and the dinner was delicious. We stayed here on our last night in Iceland and it was the perfect spot. We saw the Northern Lights and it's right near a beautiful waterfall. They have a troll walk you can do around the property which features different troll games. I don't have kids but if i did this would be a great spot for them. They had a basketball hoop and a cabin full of games, etc. Highly recommend!
