The property is very nice. The area around it and the town itself is very rundown and not well cared for. Borgarnes was the most disappointing town we stopped in.

Hotel Vesturland was a nice, clean, and convenient place to stay in Borgarnes. While not in the interesting old part of town, it was easy enough to walk down there for dinner and sight-seeing. The hotel itself was convenient to the local grocery store, a handcraft/git type of store and a big N1 station so handy for traveler's needs.

Located in Borganes, an easy jump off point to explore the Snafellsjokul penninsula, this property was a surprise. Modern, clean, great restaurant. There's also a supermarket and wine store across the street. The town itself is small and walk-able with a coupe more decent restaurants.

Generally great, safe, and quiet stay. Like their breakfast as well. But the TV cannot be wirelessly connected. Pillows were missing at the beginning as well, but the staff deliver them to the apartment after letting them know.

Great stop between snaelfellsnes and Thingvellir

This was a great place. Of note, there is not much in town, and “town” is very small. There’s a grocery store that closes early, a gas station, and maybe 2-3 bars/restaurants, no other shops. But it was a good stopping place between the Thingvellir national park and the snaelfellsnes peninsula. The restaurant seemed like it could be good, it was cute; admittedly we didn’t have time to try it. The pool downstairs is about a foot deep, just for cooling down, and they have a hot tub, sauna and steam room which were all free and it was a very nice feature. The front desk is not well staffed, but they were very friendly and informative when they were there. The room was very nice, modern, and clean. Overall a great option

This hotel is very pretty and updated but the parking is pretty bad. There are only a few parking spaces in the front and they don’t tell you if you can park on the side or in the back and there aren’t really any signs. The bed came apart when you laid on it. The TV was a smart TV so you could stream shows which was nice. The staff was not very friendly and the spa is not open 24 hours but they also don’t tell you the hours that it is open? Our tea and coffee tray had open tea bags with no tea in them. It was a nice hotel and did the job for one night but we probably wouldn’t stay here again.
