We’ll be back!!
This was awesome. The location is super private and peaceful, but with an amazing view. All things I look for in a mountain cabin. Fully stocked kitchen, which helps when you cook most of your meals! The gas fireplace was awesome. Every part of the cabin and all the furniture was well built/high quality. The 45 foot swing on the property was a nice treat! I could go on and on, but you just need to book it and see for yourself. Leave us some room to come back, though. Great place!

What a great place to stay!
My goodness what a nice location this is! The folks managing the property were kind and responsive. The location is secluded enough that you feel separated from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world, while still being just a 15 minute drive from downtown Boone. I do suggest arriving in an AWD/4WD vehicle if it's been snowing, but that's my blanket advice for anyone visiting the mountains during winter. The cabin is beautiful, second only to the views. Plenty of spots to just sit and relax–in front of the fireplace, on the adjustable gazebo porch swing, or in front of an enormous window overlooking the valley. The first day was crisp and clear. The second day it was very foggy, which created a very cool atmosphere around the cabin. It gave us a chance to try out the downstairs shuffleboard table, watch a few movies on the living room TV, and curl up in front of the large fireplace in the living room. I recently took a remote job with an employer in Boone that'll require me to visit on-site several times a year. Part of my motivation booking here was to see if my wife and I could find a place we could love coming back to over and over. I think we've found it!

Immaculate New Years Stay
We rented this cabin for a post Christmas/New Years stay as a group of 5 friends and it was hands down the best experience we have ever had with a rental property. The cabin was better than we expected. The stunning views from the giant living room window and porch, the comfort and provided necessities, the close location to downtown Boone and Blowing Rock while still feeling like you were completely secluded. Everything about the property and our stay was everything we wanted and more. We cannot recommend this cabin enough! Book your dream cabin stay NOW!!

A lovely home
We have stayed at a lot of vacation homes over the years, and this is surely one of the best of them! Pictures don’t really do the home justice; the view is stunning. The hosts were wonderful and did a great job of equipping the rental. We love to cook and were thrilled to find that the kitchen had all of the tools you’d need to make a meal. The location was also fantastic. You could be on the Blue Ridge Parkway within minutes, and in Boone or Blowing Rock in 10-15 minutes. We had such a fantastic stay and would love to return if we’re in the area again!

God’s Canvas with Angels Kilkelly’s as caretakers!
It was a breathtaking, peaceful, decompressing, and healing visit for all four adults— first timers to mountains. Would be grateful to cone back and experience more time in exact same location. Owners are very caring, generous people and fun to converse with! LOVED IT!

My husband kept asking me if I wanted to stop at the overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I told him “no” because we had the same view from the cabin. Seriously, you can see for miles. This is a beautifully well-maintained cabin with all the amenities.

This is an outstanding property with amazing views of the mountains. It is a quick 10 minute drive into Boone and a 20 minute drive to Blowing Rock. Joanie is a wonderful host and very accommodating.

What a wonderful week we had at the Kilkelly’s private cabin! Everything about our time there was special! The cabin is so comfortable and well appointed. Wonderful stay at the Cabin
The cabin is everything we had hoped for, inside and out. The cabin is comfortable, clean, and the kitchen is very well-equipped. We loved using the fire pit and swing. Stunning Mountain Views
We throughly enjoyed our stay at the cleanest cabin we’ve ever stayed (inside and out)! The mountain views from all windows were stunning. The back deck with swing were fabulous. There was plenty of comfortable outdoor seating on the porch, deck, by the fire pit - both in shade and in sun. Joanie was the perfect hostess. The kitchen was stocked, and we appreciated the toiletries and amenities. The beds were very comfortable, and pillows, sheets, and towels were very clean. We enjoyed the serene environment with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock, and Boone. We can’t wait to come back!

Words cannot describe this cabin and the scenery. Everywhere you look you can see God’s hand at work! The kitchen is very well stocked with all that’s needed for meal prep and serving. This cabin and property are just perfect. Everything was clean and the kitchen cabinets were orderly. We were gifted fresh eggs from the owner. My boys enjoyed visiting the chickens, playing on the rope swing and shuffleboard! Owners pay close attention to detail to make this place as comfortable as possible. Very impressed all around.

Device free family time
We spent the first weekend of spring break at the cabin and had a wonderful device-free time. The cabin and surrounding area offered us and our three kids (9,7,4) plenty to do. From the rope swing on the property, to easy hikes right off the Blue Ridge Parkway, to the candy barrels at Mast General Store, we loved every minute of it. Joanie and Gary could not have been more hospitable, they worked with us on date changes and provided farm fresh eggs at check-in. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for and the view from the porch and living room is unbelievable!

A very thoughtful cabin
TBH all other reviewers are right. This is a fantastic stay. Lots of little things that show the cabin is thoughtfully taken care of: coffee grinder in pantry, many spices available in the kitchen, high-quality bath tissue, ability to move the swing on the deck to a different position, extra shuffleboard sand if needed, etc. Clearly a focus on the smaller details that add up. And check-on and check-out was seamless.

The Perfect Place to Stay
We stayed at this cabin for a few days - 4 adults and one child. From the moment we walked through the door, we were wowed! There are two master suites one on the main level and one on the ground level - beds and bedding is comfortable. Bathrooms are large with all toiletries. The kitchen is fully stocked with all appliances you could ever need. There is a fire pit off the patio on the ground level with all necessary tools to make a fire. The living areas are spacious and comfortably appointed. In short, the hosts have covered everything you could possibly need to have a perfect stay. Now… let’s talk about the views! This cabin was built to just sit and take in the gorgeous mountain landscape. There are bird feeders right outside the windows and the mornings are filled with birds if all types having breakfast - along with an occasional squirrel and chipmunk. The cabin is situated 10 minutes from Boone. It is an easy drive with paved roads all the way. We got to the ski resorts and mountain resorts in about 30-40 minutes. Joanie and Gary were the kindest hosts! Thank you for having us! They were available if needed but did not encroach on your stay. Grateful to have had the opportunity to visit and we will certainly be back the moment we can.

I can't say enough about the views! Simply stunning. The house was beautiful, and well-appointed. Probably the most well stocked VRBO I have ever stayed in. The beds were extremely comfortable. We loved that the outdoor fire pit was stocked with wood, starter logs, etc. There were fresh eggs left from the chickens that are at the main house. Just really welcoming and beautiful special touches. Joanne was an amazing host. We can't wait to visit again!

What's a better word than Spectacular?
Never mind. No word accurately describes this place. We spent the first three days of a five-night stay in awe at the jaw-dropping, long-range mountain view and the delightful, spacious, well-thought-out design of the cabin. Add to that total privacy (except for the abundance of wildlife--birds, rabbits, chipmunks) and the absolutely charming owners (Gary and Joanie Kilkelly) and your perfect stay is guaranteed. I speak where my money is. Wife and I have already booked for 2023 and 2024. You should also--if you can find a vacancy, that is.

Not meeting expectations
Was surprised to find no hot tub. Advertising pictures showed a hotub on outside patio. Consider updating pictures. Otherwise a clean and beautiful rental cabin.

We have been renting the cabin with a perfect five star rating for over 13 years. The hot tub was removed over three years ago. In all of the write ups there is no mention of a hot tub. Also if you use the sort by feature it will not come up as having a hot tub. Most people use the sort by feature if a hot tub is important to them. The hot tub pictures were taken down off the site. I believe the one picture that you are referring to is a picture of the downstairs game room with the red sleeper sofas and the shuffleboard where you can catch a glimpse of the hot tub on the patio. For some reason that picture did not get deleted years ago. But that picture also refers to that game room only. We are sorry that you felt the cabin was not as advertised. It’s very disappointing to receive this review as we work very hard to maintain a pristine five-star respite for our guests.
