Log Cabin Oasis near Downtown

Welcome to The Berry Patch!

The Berry Patch is a log cabin with a metal roof, covered front porch, and covered rear deck. It has wood floors throughout, log walls that give character to the exterior and interior of this charming rustic Blowing Rock log cabin. Enjoy the upgrades and creature comforts such as central heat and air conditioning, a washer and dryer, a full kitchen, and an HDTV with DVD Player in the living room. The covered front porch and antique rocking chair are where you will want to sit and read or drink your morning coffee. The rolling, manicured grounds are a great place for children of all ages to play. Dogs are allowed, only one per reservation with a 50-pound weight limit. Standard pet fees do apply.

The kitchen is fully functional with a dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer, oven and cooktop, microwave, coffee maker, granite countertops, and cabinets stocked with cookware and flatware. The adjacent dining table sits beneath an antler chandelier and seats six guests comfortably. The central kitchen island has two bar stool seats to accommodate a total of eight guests. The open living room has a large wood-burning stone fireplace with a stone hearth and a solid wood mantle. Above it is an HDTV with a DVD player for movie-watching by the fire. Leather furniture completes the living room. The living area has tongue-and-groove wood ceilings with exposed beams. The covered rear deck has a porch swing, a gas grill, and a four-seat outdoor dining table.

The master bedroom on the main level has a king bed, wood floors, tongue-and-groove wood ceilings, log walls, and many windows for sunlight. A glass door leads to the rear deck. The main level full bathroom features a large, tiled shower and a granite vanity with an under-mount sink.

Upstairs is a full bathroom with a tub and shower combo, a TV, a granite vanity with an under-mount sink, and a window. The second bedroom upstairs has a queen bed, a TV, and numerous windows. The third bedroom upstairs has two twin beds and a sitting area. One of the treats in this bedroom is the beautiful stone accent extending from the chimney below.

This log cabin is a real charmer for families, couples, and friends alike and accommodates six guests comfortably. Though nestled in the woods apart from the world, The Berry Patch is close and convenient to all the High Country has to offer. The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than a mile away, and some of its protected pasture boundary lands can be seen in winter when the leaves are gone. The town of Blowing Rock is only a few minutes away, four (4) miles to be exact. Tweetsie Railroad and Appalachian Ski Mountain are also within five (5) miles. The Watauga River and the south fork of the New River are just a few miles away.

The town of Boone is six (6) miles away. Banner Elk is a twenty-three (23) mile drive. The village of Valle Crucis, with its riverfront community park, the original Mast General Store, and charming throwback restaurants and shops, is fifteen (15) miles away. The town of Seven Devils, with the Otter Falls Trail and Hawksnest Snow Tubing & Zip Lines, is less than twenty (20) miles away. Grandfather Mountain and its famed Profile hiking trail are less than twenty (20) miles away. Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is twenty-one (21) miles away, and Beech Mountain Ski Resort is twenty-nine (29) miles away. Linville Falls, Linville Caverns, and Watauga Lake are about 30 miles away.

The Berry Patch offers a genuine log cabin in the woods, separated from the modern world when you covet peace and quiet, yet the convenience of being close to all the High Country. Get away from the trappings of our tech-driven society, but do so in a comfy cabin close to all the fun things to do in the NC High Country!

Cute Cabin in good location
We had a nice stay over Thanksgiving. The cabin is very charming with large old reclaimed wood beams and a large stone fireplace. We used the fireplace every night. in a quiet attractive neighborhood. Good spot to enjoy hikes, fly fishing, Boone and Blowing Rock

Authentic Cabin
We stayed for a long weekend with our teenage daughter while visiting our oldest daughter at ASU. We loved the authentic cabin feel and wood burning fireplace. We bright our own firewood, if you can pay $25 extra a day for firewood. The location was very convenient to her apartment, campus, and App Ski, since she had a season pass there. The communication was excellent with the property manager. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars, is due to the master bathroom. There is carpet on the floor 😫, and the shower needs major updating. There was mold under some of the grout in the shower, which I can’t entirely blame the housekeeper, because the shower is so old. We ended up taking showers in the upstairs bathroom which was nicer. We did like the big leather couch, enough room for 3 people.

Visit to Blowing Rock and Cabin getaway
The cabin accommodation was excellent. A real cabin, exactly what we all wanted, spacious beautiful interior, and within few miles of Blowing Rock, Boone and Blue Ridge Parkway. Beautifully tucked away, soothing, in a forest setting in the mountains. Exceeded expectations.

Mothers Day Weekend
What a great Mothers Day trip we had. Great place to stay. Tucked away from everything yet close enough to hop in the car and go! Just wish the place had a outside fire pit!

Clean, cozy, quiet, enough space for everyone
We love staying in downtown Blowing Rock, but when you have a pet, rental homes can be hard to come by. The Berry Patch was only 12 mins away from Blowing Rock and equally as close to App Ski. The space was perfect for a family of 4 and the grandparents. Lulu the heeler couldn’t get enough of the outside. It was probably the cleanest rental we’ve ever been in. Be forewarned that there are no extras like cleaning supplies or paper products (which they tell you prior) but otherwise, the home is properly stacked with everything you need. I loved exploring this new area to us…the slightly windy roads with gorgeous views of the mountains and the farms and the cute little one car only tunnel on the way to the house. We hope to get back there every year and start a new family tradition!

Wont hapen again
We had a death in the family 5 days before going we tried to reschedule but they would not let us. We had to insurance but was told we had show a death certificate to file a claim. Total BS and a scam, they dont mind taking your money but dont want to work with on rescheduling. It will not happen again
