"The hotel is fairly high up the hillside, so the drive up is exciting! The hotel itself is amazing. We had a great corner room and balcony with amazing sea and valley views. The staff were very friendly. The only downside was the restaurant was only open for breakfast during our stay, so dinners had to be elsewhere. "

"We had a wonderful time here and can’t wait to go back! We spent 5 days here as part of our honeymoon and loved it. We spent our mornings out on tours and the hotel packed lunches for us to take with, and our afternoon by the pool sipping sangria. Can’t go wrong with that! It’s a very small resort but it made it that much better - laid back, quiet, good selection of food options for me that were gluten free, and friendly staff "

The entire property is beautiful, lined with gardens growing grapes, herbs, and vegetables under the scenery of a Madeiran coastal hill. Every corner of Socalco is tastefully decorated and the rooms have a clean and modern aesthetic that exudes comfort. The rooms boast views over the coast and breakfast is a true highlight, enjoyed on the terrace with a view over Calheta beach. Breakfast is also thoughtfully curated, with meats, cheeses, fruits, tea, coffee, and a cooked egg breakfast, all of exceptional quality. We were so pleased to stay here and we will absolutely return if we are back in Madeira. Treat yourself to even a few nights here, it's absolutely worth it!"
