"One of the coolest places we’ve ever stayed! The property and house were absolutely perfect for a relaxed family get together. Highlights included game nights, chatting on the enclosed porch, morning coffee on the back deck and a sunset bocce game…so many memories. Agree with everything written in all previous reviews, but would add that my favorite parts were the bonafide gorgeous pollinator garden and the abundance of delightful art throughout the house and property! "We really enjoyed our stay at the Johnson farmhouse. My daughter’s had a softball tournament in Johnson City and the location was perfect. We also went to historical sites and waterfalls. Overall, the experience was great. Would do it again if we go back. "

"Close to home but far enough to leave worries behind. We checked out local breweries and all were delicious with great atmosphere. Dinner in Emmitsburg was divine and they even gave me a single red rose for Valentine's. We loved the history and charm, the property for walking, and we played some of the very old board games in the home. The owner was very responsive and helpful with navigating the snowy driveway and cleared a path to the door! We reccommend highly and will definitely return!"

"The Happy Hen was the perfect spot for my wife and I and our two children, aged 10 and 6. Minutes away from the battlefield, with a very convenient Dollar General just down the road, the HH was cozy and delightful. We intend to stay again in the future."

"Our family had a great time visiting and staying at Cress Creek Sheep Farm! The house was well stocked, clean, and comfortable and the hosts were kind and helpful. Our young kids had a great time feeding the sheep, completing the corn maze, riding the tractor hay ride, and generally exploring the farm! We enjoyed apple picking nearby and a few small hikes as well! Beautiful and we would happily return!"
