The place is accessed up a narrow road with tight turns, so you'll need to have a car that is smaller/ good for that. We arrived late in the evening and could not find close street parking. "Spectacular place to stay. Sergio was very accommodating…met us upon arrival to give us a little history of the building, made sure we had everything we needed and went on his way. It’s truly as beautiful as the photos. And what a cool trap door (you’ll have to go and stay to see what I mean ;-). "The staff were all very friendly and were able to accommodate a late check-in and check-out very smoothly. The space is very spacious, with a large bathroom which had lots of counter space which is rare to find at this price! Definitely recommend staying here if you are in the como area as it is located so close to the port and all the restaurants and shops! Bonus points for having a diffuser attachment on the hairdryer as a curly girl who was in need of one!"

"We loved hotel griso. Personel was very kind and the room was comfortable. Great view on the lake and close to lecco (20 minutes walk). Clean hotel and a good place to take the car and visit Lake como. There is also a great beach not too far."

"Room was great as a base to explore. We were only there for a quick breakfast and to sleep but beds were comfy, room quiet but could do with some modernisation of the bathroom shower. Overall a good hotel, close to San Giovanni station and a short 10 minute walk to the centre of Como. Breakfast typical of most hotels in Italy and would happily stay here again."

"-Room cleaned every day -Staff was friendly -Air conditioning wasn’t functioning properly When too hot you can not reset the gage for the right temperature -the hair dryer was making noise and it was dangerously hot -hygiene, I asked for new tea cup, the cleaner took my cups in bathroom washed and gave it to me. I was shocked, I don’t know what to say. -toilets bowl was clean but the back of the toilet seat yellow poo stains, hairs. And I saw they were cleaning the room and all the new bad sheets were on floor when they making look nice and tidy. -at back of the cafeteria they don’t seems like have a dishwasher, staff was washing up plates and cups a quick job. After seeing all this I don’t feel comfortable eating, or sleeping. So! I asked not to clean my room and I bought my own products to clean surfaces and toilet and bath. I bought my own bed sheet and slept on it, because my skin coming out with small spots. I gave 4 star because staff was nice and welcoming but the main points of hygiene was really missing."

"I’ve been fortunate to travel extensively and stay at some incredible hotels around the world, but I can honestly say that the Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como is the best hotel I’ve ever experienced. The property is absolutely stunning. The setting on Lake Como is breathtaking, the rooms are beautiful, and every corner of the hotel feels peaceful, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. I sat looking at the lake on many occasions and I will never forget the peace that I felt. The service is simply exceptional. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making our stay unforgettable. Cesar was fantastic, he greeted me on my arrival and immediately I felt very at home. It was like I had known him for a long time. He really was excellent. It was authentic hospitality at its very best. You paid attention to every detail and somehow always seemed to be one step ahead of anything I needed. It’s rare to leave a hotel already thinking about when you can come back, but that’s exactly how I felt. Thank you to everyone who made my stay so memorable. This was an unforgettable experience, and I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. I wil definitely be back."
