The place is accessed up a narrow road with tight turns, so you'll need to have a car that is smaller/ good for that. We arrived late in the evening and could not find close street parking. The available spots were all taken. We had to walk about a half mile (.8 km) from where we parked to the place. We dropped our bags off at the end of the road, but even from the closest parking spot, be prepared...

Wenn man echtes italienisches Ambiente sucht wird man hier fündig. Blevio ist sehr verwinkelt und man muss sich auf mindestens 400m Gepäckschleppen einstellen (wobei das in der Anzeige auch so beschrieben wird). "Spectacular place to stay. Sergio was very accommodating…met us upon arrival to give us a little history of the building, made sure we had everything we needed and went on his way. It’s truly as beautiful as the photos. And what a cool trap door (you’ll have to go and stay to see what I mean ;-). Had a wonderful bathroom, nice bar setup and great open space with panoramic views. You won’t be disappointed "

"Everything was perfect! The host was extremely welcoming and helpful from the very first moment we contacted him. The apartment was excellent and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location is amazing - the funicular is just nearby and takes you down to Como. The views from up high are absolutely breathtaking! "I don’t normally leave such detailed reviews, but in this case, it’s definitely warranted. Where do I even begin? The Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como was absolutely incredible and, without question, one of the highlights of our entire trip to Italy! We were travelling through Italy and booked only two nights at the Mandarin, but if we were planning the trip again, we would definitely stay at least one night longer. The hotel lived up to its name, which is synonymous with exceptional service, attention to detail, and over the top luxury. As breathtaking as the property is, though, what stood out most was the service and the way the staff made us feel throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived, everyone was warm, welcoming, and attentive. Even more impressive, the staff members we met during check-in made a point of greeting us personally whenever they saw us again. Those small touches made a lasting impression and are exactly what separates great service from truly exceptional hospitality. Everything about our stay, from our room and the food to the floating pool and the spa, felt special. We were genuinely sad when it was time to leave and wished we had booked that extra night. The Mandarin delivered exactly the experience we had hoped for and somehow exceeded it. If you’re considering staying here, do it! It’s definitely a splurge, but for us, it was worth every penny. Next time we’re in Lake Como, we’ll absolutely be back, and staying longer! 5+++ stars!"

"Overall, our stay at the hotel was okay. The buffet breakfast was excellent, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. However, we had some minor issues. We expected more from a four-star hotel, perhaps because we’re not familiar with Italian hotel practices. For example, they only provided body wash, so we had to buy our own shampoo. The air conditioning wasn’t cold enough, making it difficult to sleep if you prefer a chilly room. Still water is only available on the ground floor. While they made our beds every day, they didn’t change the bed linens, which wasn’t a problem for us since we usually take a bath before bed. However, if you prefer daily bed linens, this might be an issue."

"The hotel is very scenic and the grounds are lovely especially the pool area. Staff are very helpful too, room was perfect, good size and comfy bed. You can relax here all day and the views are amazing. It’s a bit of a walk up so recommend coming by car/taxi but going down is ok and a supermarket at the bottom and bus stop where you can get to town within 10 mins and Varese nord station. The only negative is the food, it just wasn’t to my liking and good value. I would definitely come back."

Kurhaus Cademario Hotel & SPA

"We had the best stay at Kurhaus Cademario. We stayed for 5 nights and began each of our mornings with the delicious included breakfast and some time at the spa. The spa is wonderful and kept so clean. The outdoor area by the spa with sun loungers gives you the most breathtaking view. The staff (waiters, cleaning staff, front desk, etc.) were all so kind. The front desk was so friendly and helpful- I’m not certain or her name - I think it might have been Rosanna - was so lovely and made us feel welcomed. Rooms were spacious and air conditioning was great. There’s a bus that goes directly to Lugano from the hotel which was super convenient!! We loved every moment of our stay and will 1000% recommend this hotel to our friends & family. Hopefully we’ll return soon!"
