"When we arrived we saw immediately that the sofabed in the lounge was broken and could not be used to sit or sleep on, this was disappointing as it meant there were not enough beds for us all. We contacted the owner and the next day a chap arrived with an airbed. We requested that the sofa be replaced but that did not happen. It’s like stepping back in time to visit a town, farm, colliery village and old hall and getting to experience what it was like to live in those places from about 1910 onwards. There are staff who take on the roles of various locals that really bring this place to life.
