The location was great and we did enjoy ourselves. The neighborhood was quiet. There were a few issues though, the firepit tank was empty and the BBQ tank ran out of fuel before I could get my dinner on the last night. We had two mice that eat some of our bread. The Property Manager was very responded apoligetic and responded quickly with traps and they were caught. The owner should put some money into a new carpet and other obvious repairs. This is not a critizism, but more of a suggestion.

Boulder Bay

Good quiet property for families. Contractors on lot next door worked 8am- 6pm but we spent our days enjoying Big Bear so did not feel disrupted by noise. Lots of room to spread out and games and puzzles were used. Nice decks to view sunset and enjoy morning coffee. Gas fire pit on deck was a bonus for cool mornings. Just needs an umbrella to shield from midday sun on upper deck in July.

Good for a couple of families

This was a great house for 2 families (4 adults, 2 kids). The neighborhood was cute and quiet and the deck/views were great! The beds were comfortable and the inside of the house was clean and we had plenty of towels, bedding , and kitchen supplies. The decks were quite dirty, however, and the bbqs need attention. There was so much built up bbq grease that it had dripped from the top deck onto the bottom one. We used the grill once and the excess grease in the bottom of the grill actually made it a fire hazard. Flames from the grease were at least 1 foot high and nearly reached the overhang of the house. All in all, though, it was a fun and comfortable place to stay.

Run Down House

House smelled of mildew. Outside entrance covered in ice. When it rained, three substantial leaks appeared. Management said we would have to put pots and pans under leaks otherwise we would be held liable for damage. Water leak caused house electrical to short out and we lost all food in fridge. Left multiple messages with management company who never followed up. They kept my deposit even after we cleaned the house and never returned phone calls. I do not recommend this property or management company.

beautiful view & nice layout

nasty old carpet and furniture, smell like animal. dirty kitchen cabnets, dining room table (crumbs under the plastic cover & chairs. 2 Gas grill didn't light. Had get skis in the driveway. Mice traps, we caught 3 mice, they didn't come get them. Blue light caught a trail of stains that led to or from the bathroom where it look like something exploded in there. we didn't use that restroom/wash room. Had everything you needed to cook drink and lots to serve with. Had even fans, vaccum cleaner, extra blankets and pillows that we didn't use(they didn't smell fresh. poker table very dirty and stained. dusty and spider webs. So dirty made me nauseous the whole time

Boulder Bay Bayview construction site

Power saws, hammering and loud music. We could not enjoy the best feature of the home, a nice big deck overlooking the lake. Had I known I would have chosen another location. I contacted Destination Big Bear and his reply was, “ I hope they don’t work Saturdays”. Um, they did.

Great cabin

Loved the views and dual deck. Had dinner on the lower deck to avoid the sun, then played games on the upper deck afterwards. Was beyond perfect.

Girlfriends Trip

There 6 nights Our experience was excellent the cabin was superb everything was fantastic we highly recommend this cabin and the staff. The view is spectacular you won’t be sorry staying in this cabin!

Great Views and Great Amenities!

Stayed here over winter break with some friends. The entire cabin is very spacious and views are spectacular (both during the day and night). The upstairs patio can accommodate upwards of 10 or more, and the addition of couch cushions and a firepit were great. The marketlights were also a nice touch. The inside was comfortable - the beds and couches large and easy to sleep or lounge in. The poker table was a great addition for board and card games. And the water pressure was great! It's definitely driving distance to Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. And the nearby market/liquor store has reasonable prices if you need odds and ends (cooking oil, foil, salt/pepper, coffee) if you forget anything. It saves you the trip of having to drive all the way to Vons or Stater Bros. I will definitely re-book again!

Home owner - Please make sure your property is properly cleaned

My friend and I were visiting some friends in Big Bear right before July 4th. Obviously there were people staying before us because unfortunately the house was not properly cleaned. The "clean" towels had big bright yellow stains, there were hairs on the toilets and beds, dirty drinking glasses and the carpet did not appear to have been vacuumed. What was really disappointing was the non reaction of the property owners. Big Bear Destination tried to be attentive and sent someone over who cleaned the hairs off the toilet with just a wet rag, no disinfectant. Big Bear Destination returned the cleaning deposit but no apologies or discount from the owners. FYI-the pictures can be deceiving - the angle of the picture shows the lake but right in front of the house the lake is dry and swampy. They got two stars because the deck is amazing, the layout is conducive for families or even 2 people where each person has their own level. The downstairs master bedroom has gorgeous views of the trees and boulders. If the owners had taken more consideration and response to our immediate complaints we would not feel a negative review was needed.
