Thanks to Sarah and Bryan, we had a brilliant time at their cottage. The place is so cozy and warm, it has everything what’s needed. The place is ideal for relaxation as its located to a quiet and peaceful little village, yet its not far from local amenities and beaches.
The owner’s are very welcoming and thoughtful, the bottle of prosseco and local milk left for us was very kind and lovely touch殺❤️. We cannot think of anything negative of our one week stay. We will definitely recommend and will be staying again next year.

Without doubt the best accommodation we have stayed in.
Without doubt the best accommodation we have stayed in. A bit isolated but that was fine for us. The cottage was every bit as good as the pictures suggested with ensuite shower rooms with every bedroom a large kitchen diner and comfortable lounge. A games room with table tennis skittles and darts was great for a wet day.

Excellent cottage.
Excellent cottage. Very well equipped and the owners were on hand to advise on local sights and to make sure our stay was comfy. Very convenient for the north coast beaches but still a quiet retreat at the end of the day.

Loads of parking space and we got a lovely warm welcome with thoughtful touches thrown-in for the weary traveller to enjoy!
The cottage itself is just perfect, with views from the living room across a beautiful valley and a kitchen that was the social hub - big table for eight and great cooking facilities, utensils and white goods all very useful. There's a cupboards stocked with family games, jigsaws and a library too for those wet and windy "stay at home and chill" days. If that isn't enough, the Games Room has pool, table tennis, skittles, darts, bar skittles to bring out the competitive side of everyone in a fun environment.
The medium sized garden was secure and big enough for our Great Dane to enjoy, the living room has very comfy leather sofas and a decent sized smart telly. Broadband was good but struggled with more than a couple of devices at a time, and thankfully for the work-weary the mobile service (on Vodaphone) was able to handle texts but voice calls in the garden only.
The bedrooms were airy and very comfortable, well appointed with all three showers piping hot and great flow rate. We did a wash in the utility room and hung out to dry on our own washing on the rotary washing line.

Clean, spacious, well equipped and warm ( January ) cottage.
Clean, spacious, well equipped and warm ( January ) cottage. Owners nearby and very friendly, left us a welcome back but not intrusive. Lots of parking space and an added bonus is a well equipped games room nearby. Ideally situated for all the North Devon coast, would highly recommend Swallows Cottage, Alwington.
