Stunning views, beautifully maintained & clean rooms, great spa & pool and very good restaurant/bar food. There are bikes to hire, too. Such a great team of staff but I’m afraid I don’t know their names to thank them individually."

"The restaurant was wonderful and the view and proximity to the harbor was amazing! It is an old building and we requested a twin room. The bathroom was pretty tight and the television was placed so low only one person could see it. But overall the experience was lovely."

Room was clean with a comfy bed although the bathroom was very compact with very little room to manoeuvre. We had booked room only but were given a breakfast bag at check-in which was an unexpected surprise."

"Our stay here was below the standard I would have expected for the price. On the positive side, the location was good and very convenient for getting around. Breakfast was acceptable, with a reasonable selection, and the staff in the breakfast area were friendly and welcoming. However, the overall condition of the hotel was very tired and in need of significant investment. While reception staff were polite at check-in, there was limited engagement beyond that. The room didn’t quite match expectations from the advertised photos, particularly those showing sea views. Our window had metal screws in the frame to prevent it from opening too far, the curtains were noticeably sun bleached, and there were maintenance issues such as a leaking bath and damaged plaster. We also suspected the room may previously have accommodated pets, as my husband, who has mild allergies, experienced some discomfort with his asthma during the stay. When we requested an iron and ironing board, these arrived without a cover for the board, so we had to improvise by using a towel. Another point to note was the £10 per day charge for on-site parking, which felt a little steep given the overall condition of the property. Overall, you could see that this hotel was way past its prime but still has potential to be great again, but requires significant refurbishment."
