Dear Gregory, We sincerely apologize for the delay answering your feedback and we regret any inconvenience you have experienced.Hotels in Germany take steps to reduce environmental footprint of its hotels, that is why our rooms are equipped with an air-cooling system that regulates itself depending on the temperature outside. As you told us during your stay, it was not possible for you to stay longer in our hotel as our air-cooling system did not met your medical needs and we offered you our assistance to find another alternative for your stay in Berlin. However, because you booked your room through an online travel agency and made a payment there and not directly at the hotel, it was not possible for us to issue the refund directly. Therefore, as soon as we received your feedback, we investigated the matter and it appeared that you did not request a refund from Expedia yet. Thus, we took care of the situation and asked Expedia to make a refund for your stay. We understand that a delay in this sensitive matter is upsetting, but as the payment was made with an online travel agency, we do not have the opportunity to take actions for a refund directly. Dear Pamela. Thank you for your stay and your related evaluation of your stay. It is nice to hear that apart from the situation with the mini market you were satisfied with your stay. In fact, our reception is staffed 24 h, however, our night service is additionally entrusted with the preparation of breakfast and accordingly sometimes working in the kitchen. In this case it seems that the reception is not occupied, usually the guests draw attention to themselves by calling and the colleague is directly back at his place and is available to the guests. Since the mini-market is not lockable, we naturally have confidence in our guests that you will not simply help yourself and not tell. Generally, you have done everything right, served yourself and told us at the next opportunity what items you have consumed to pay for them. Please do not take the comment of the colleague personally, I think they just wanted to make you aware of the problem of the mini-market during the night, but did so in the wrong way. My apologies.
