"We stayed Sora tradition western style, room is spacious, clean, and provides good amenities - like best face soap & moisturizer face creams, top of line hair dryer, Yukata, indoor & out door slippers, toothbrush with paste. I don’t have to pack anything. They provide for you. Only thing missing was body lotion. The indoor hot springs (in room) temperature was perfect, but outside terrace one was extremely hot, so hard to enjoyable. The Japanese style meals, the dinner and breakfast we select was 8/10. All great, but the soup wasn’t my favorite, however others might like it. In my opinion, the coffee wasn’t that great, but good selection of teas. I can’t complain the staff’s service. Top notch, they will make your stay comfortable, everyone so politely kind. So, my staying at here was best experience. Another plus things was next to Hell of Beppu and has great city view. "

"We booked a tower room on 8th Floor with private hot spring in the room. The room size is like an apartment that has a living, western bedroom, kitchenette, tatami, bathroom and ocean view balcony. The bath area also has shower and open air hot spring tub that Springs from natural source. Tub is large enough for 4 persons and it offers a view of the ocean bay. Staff service are excellent courteous and very helpful and can speak English as well. Room is meticulously clean, spotless, thoughfully and artfully designed. We selected breakfast and kaiseki dinner. Breakfast are delicious buffet style with western and Japanese dishes. Kaiseki meals are such an experience. The presentation of each dish is so pretty. We found sashimi fish dish on certain selections like sea bream, horse mackerel fish very tough and chewy although we are sashimi lovers and quite familiar in this end. We wish there were more varieties of other seafood like crab or scallops or uni in the sashimi. The wagyu beef in the Shabu shabu and sukiyaki are excellent grade. It melts in your mouth. With a room in the tower booking, we were offerd lounge club access with beer wine beverages and appetizers in the afternoon and are night. Overall, the experience surpasses what we expected. It was a pleasant stay and we will surely come back."

"Service staff was excellent. Had stayed in Nijikan and Hoshi Kan on separate nights. Staff had helped to transfer my bags and brought over my beverage that I had left in the fridge to the new room. Thoughtful gesture that had impressed me."

"If you are looking to stay here, chances are you were trying to stay in Beppu but wanted to save money, and for the price the hotel is fine. First things first, if you are taking the train, it is around a 20 minute walk from the station, but it mostly flat so it is easy. Staff were fantastic, and check in went great. The hotel was probably the best in Beppu back in the Showa Era (there is a second phone in the bathroom), however it is now clearly quite old and has a distinct smell, even inside my room. The carpet in the hallways was in rough shape, though the carpet in the room was clearly much newer. The air conditioner is either on or off, no control of the thermostat, so your choices are on, off, or open the windows. My room was on the 11th floor, so the view was exceptional. Seeing the sunrise from up there made me feel like the room was worth double the price All things considered, the price was fair, the hotel clean, and the service great, with the main downside for me being the smell."

"The private onsen were phenomenal. The onsen in the room was also amazing. The main clerk made sure to explain everything he could about the room, the baths, and the entirety of the building. Breakfast was also amazing, a large spread of what I hope is a traditional Japanese breakfast. "
