Dear Adam K, Thank you for taking your time to write comment about 161 Hulu hotel . We’re so sorry about the renovation going on in the hutong. We only got the information about it the day you checked in, and it got started the next morning. According to the requirements of the Beijing government, all hutongs in the city center have to be revamped, either the merchants or the local residents can’t prevent it. And at the first day of the construction, we put letters in every room and at the reception to inform guests and reminding them to be careful, and if you had any questions at any situation that needed help with you can always feel free to ask for help at the reception. Now the revamping is over, the hutong has gone back to the quite as it always was. Parts of walls at our hotel are being revamped indeed. The winter in Beijing is really cold, the paint on the surface of the wall is a kind of technological coating so the color changes easily due to the coldness and weather change, and that effects the entirety layout, we revamp it every year so it stays the best condition as possible for our guests.
