Small quiet and very comfortable. It does not have all the amenities of a 5* however it was comfortable and close for us to walk around the gothic section. We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the hotel. For a place to lay your head and relax it was very good

Although tucked down a slightly grubby passageway, once you get into the property it is nicely restored and the room is well presented. My room had a balcony opening into the street which was noisy late into the night but ear plugs were provided if required. The room itself was clean with a toilet and rain-style shower; the bed was comfortable and all fixtures and fittings are modern & working- as was the WiFi. A buffet style continental breakfast was available at a reasonable price and included the option of bacon and eggs if you asked. A bonus was that you could sit out in the courtyard to enjoy it. The location is brilliant for La Ramblas and Plaza Real, and close to a station on the Metro from which you can get pretty much anywhere in Barcelona. It’s also only about 15 minutes walk to the port and another 5 to the cable car which takes you over to Montjuic. There are plenty of dining options in the area. Overall a great spot for a few days exploring the city

Location was excellent Gothic Quarter. Comfortable bed. Amenities minimal. No washcloth, 1 hand towel, 2 bath towels. Sewer smell from shower drain. Cement floors. This hotel is in an area close to many restaurants, bakeries etc. I would call it a heritage building. Very old down a narrow road. Close to metro & buses. Lots of electrical outlets, no dresser for clothes.

upon arrival it was quite obvious that the pictures shown online are nothing like what the building or rooms look like. We travelled with a baby and a lot of bags which was difficult enough, but when we saw the size of the elevator to get to the 3rd floor we knew it was going to be a shocker. The elevator was only big enough to send 1 bag up at a time and it wasn't big enough to put the pram in, even with no one else or nothing else in the elevator! The room looked absolutely nothing like the pictures shown online. When i asked the receptionist why the pictures were very different she said that the pics online are from their best room when it was redecorated and it i wanted to see pics of the room we had booked and been allocated then i could have requested them. My family didn't feel comfortable staying at Casa Lirio so we asked for a refund so we could go to a different hotel and were told that they would not issue a refund under any condition. We eventually moved to The Grand Marina Hotel and had a fantastic stay. I couldn't recommend Casa Lirio any less, it was a shocker, and how they feel that they can use the word "Boutique" in their name i will never know!
