Staffs are so rude
I arrived late at night. The guy at front was being so rude. Never smiles and looks at you like insect. We were two people so asked for two card keys. But received only one key, asked for the additional key, but he looked at us and just ignored. Staffs are being so rude at this place.

Poor hotel in a good location
Our stay was very poor. unfortunately the staff member who served us was rude. The internet simply did not work. There was no smoke alarm in our room as it was missing from its ceiling fixing. The shower was cold, the only good thing to add was the breakfast and the hotel location. Will not stay again.

Nice stay at nice hotel.. service was nice check-in process was quick.. The one that i really like is thai breakfast which is already included with the room that i booked, the breakfast is nice with 4 thai meals that you can choose between rice and noodles (what locals eat for) and there's also toast for who didn't like heavy breakfast.. Free coffee for breakfast also a good selling price i guess (ice/hot americano, latte or cappuccino).. overall, my stay in lodge 61 was very nice..

For the lone and budget traveller
Ideal for those travelling alone or on a budget. Very convenient: 1. Transportation; sky train station (Ekkamai) is 2 mins away, near taxi and bus stop 2. Mini mart near by 3. Next to a shopping mall with a cinema 4. 10min walking distance to hawker street (Sukhumvit Soi 38) or Thong Lor sky train station

Given the price point, this hotel gives good value for money - within walking distance to Ekkamai BTS; just next to small mall with restaurants, MacDonald's, KFC, cineplex; walk towards Thong Lor BTS and you'll find MaeVaree Mango Sticky Rice in Soi 55 and on the opposite side of the road, night street food in Soi 38; Gateway Mall, a Japanese-oriented mall is sited just next to Ekkamai BTS station. Breakfast is simple but delicious, with fantastic coffee that hotel staff brew on the spot.

1. Unfriendly and unhelpfull frontdesk staffs. 2. Basic room only. No tissue paper provided. No hot water facilities for drinking. I guess no drinking in the room! 3. Power plug just not easily accessible. Lousy wifi facilities. 4. Only one lift available, one broen lift unrepair. 5. King size bed squeezed into tinny room, no space even to place on overize luggage. Conclusion: not recommended, this will be my first and only visit here.

The location was great. 5min walk to the BTS Ekamai Station, 1min to McDonalds, KFC, Sizzlers, etc. Wifi was stable, AC, Hot water were all well. Will stay again. Remember to have deposit cash ready.

Close to Ekamai stations and eastern bus terminal.
Abt 5 mins walk from ekkamai bus station. On The main road and 7/11 is just at the start . I stayed for or night so difficult to say on the food and staff but if one wants decent budget stay for just few nights, it's decent, clean and hygienic place.

A normal hotel. very near to sky train and bus stop. AC was not working and that create issue due to hot weather. Rest room was clean and breakfast was also fine. Facilities with hotel is also reason able. Hotel staff is also cooperative.

Excellent Hotel and Location for an extended stay
After reading the Lodges reviews, any negative comments are definitely unwarranted. As our stay was for 14 days, we found everything above expectations. Its location, a covered walkway from Ekkamai BTS, the daily Thai breakfast, that repeated every 3 days (excellent) and the entire staff were very friendly, efficient, but did not impose in any way. Electing to book the Master Room was a bonus for the extended stay, having panoramic views of the surrounds and the size of the room (huge) and was cleaned whilst we were having breakfast and enjoying real ground coffee with fancy toppings. Being so close to the BTS, Ekkamai Bus Station (day trips to Pattaya), cinema complex with a large array of food outlets and a Big C supermarket only a short walk away, why would you want to stay anywhere else. If you enjoy a soft bed normally, the firmer bed takes a night to adjust but no complaints and had to adjust the airconditioning to 25 otherwise it was too cold. As we are returning in July 2014, we are definitely rebooking this hotel and would recommend others, unless you want to boast about upmarket hotels chains, but be aware that it is classified as an Adult only hotel if you are a family with small children

Reasonably priced bed & breakfast hotel
Hotel about 10 minutes walking distance to Ekkamai BTS, hotel staff friendly. The hotel room is clean & comfortable. The hotel equipped with what split air-con unit, LED TV, instant water heater & wardrobe. I will come back to stay for my next trip to Bangkok.

Good location close to Ekamai bus station and BTS station.Very clean, nice and helpful staff, not all of staff speaks English , lot of eateries around, It is our second stay at lodge 61. Good value for money in Bangkok in Sukhumvit area.

Everything as advertised..Simple check-in...Extremely friendly staff, always helpful with directions, and suggestions..Best coffee and roasted on the premises...Located near plenty of food choices from MacDonald's to delicious local street food..A few blocks walk to the SkyTrain...Quiet neighborhood, without the hum of tourism and bars..

Great Value/Great coffee!
This hotel is a budget hotel that delivers excellent value. 2 lifts. Very clean, great staff, SUPERB coffee (arguably the best in Bangkok!), Arabica beans roasted on site! I would return for the coffee but everything else is also good. Beds are a bit hard but pillows and linens are very good. floors are so clean they "sparkle". Housekeeping staff are EXCELLENT! I will find a reason to return. location is "different"..... across from Eastern Bus station (Ekamai) so long distance travel by bus is convenient, 7 min. stroll to BTS, 10 min city bus ride to outdoor market, (staff are helpful to find it) theatres across the street as is bowling and ice skating, outdoor restaurant one block away and a mall and dept. store with Thai food court. MacDonalds and KFC close as is Sizzler. WIFI recently upgraded and is POWERFUL!

The Lodge 61 experience
I would like to tell everyone that lodge 61 was a great place to stay. Santee the owner was very obliging in helping to get us around the city of Bangkok. The room rates were very fair. They were neat and clean, staff was extremely friendly. Have to have a their coffee or teas. Excellent place when traveling thru Bangkok. Also near Ekkamai metro stop. Again great place to stay and Santee thank you for all your help.

You Pay For What You Get
The hotel is far from any major attractions and traffic is horrible in that area, so it takes even longer to get to any major attraction. No one speaks English at the front desk, but they know how just say yes. You cannot ask for anything or get anything you need if you speak English only. This is not a hotel for guests who speak English only. If you speak English only, do not go here. When you leave your room, you must turn off the air conditioning. So when you return to your room, it is nice and hot and takes about 30 minutes to cool down once you engage the air conditioner. The towels are thin and you only get 2 towels, so you them wisely. Same with the toilet paper. The only good thing is the price but after realizing what I got, I would have gladly pay more for a better hotel in a better location.

Clean and a great location
Lodge 61 is literally a 2 minute walk to Ekkemai skytrain station. So you can travel bangkok with ease. It is also close to great restaurants, a cinema and western food (if you want it) within walking distance. The staff are OK but not overly friendly (which is unusual for Bangkok). The rooms are very clean and tidy. Bed is comfy. Shower only - no bath. Free wifi is a little misleading as it is free in reception but charged for in room. However, it's only 40pence per day. I would recommend this place for the money.

The breakfast was merely toast with jelly and coffee. For the Thais, there was a little soup and meat. The parking was down the street quite a ways from the hotel.

If you want luxuries and convenience book hotel on Sukhumvit road. You get to see the urban people from around the world and get to taste best restaurants food with Thailand price. Believe me the food price cost a lot less here. I choose this hotel because I know that any street below Sukhumvit 63 is too far from getting food and entertainment. To my surprise, this new hotel is few step off the main street and surround by food center. Area around this hotel is famous for Japanese and Thai food. Many expats around this area. Very safe and very good neighborhood. If you decide to come to Bangkok and live, this is the area you wanna be.

Excellent Niche Hotel
One of the few things that bother me when staying at any budget hotel is room's unpleasant odor, bed bug, rock hard bed, unusable bathroom and noise. At this hotel, none of these was encountered. Excellent stay for me here. Four BTS stop to Siam station, one straight ride to JJ weekend market, 25 min to the airport by cab, opposite bus station to Pattaya. This hotel is very convenience for me as I come and go from Pattaya to Bangkok 3 to 4 times a week. The area around the hotel is a bit quiet late into the night when the movie theater closed but there are some Irish bar, sport bar and 24 hours seafood restaurant one block down the street which I like. Coming from Pattaya, I have seen enough and I don't want go go bar or one night stand bar around the hotel where I stay. Another good thing about this hotel is the area around here is one of the most desire resident area for expat that's why you could see many foreigners with fancy car drive pass the hotel in the morning. Strongly recommended for people who are looking for affordable hotel room, good sleep and feeling good the next morning when you get up, knowing that the hotel is worth every penny.

Best value new hotel on sukhumvit road
I have been coming in and out of Bangkok for 30 years and have stayed in almost all hotels at this price range along Sukhumvit area. I can tell you that this hotel has more than it looks. The room condition looks exactly like the pictures because it is a new hotel. It is very safe, I wouldn't worry putting my teenage daughter here alone. There is no harassers along the street. Area around here is considered very high end. Very community like type with 2 malls, cinemas, 24 hr supermarket and public park opposite the hotel. This hotel is suitable for women traveler, married or unmarried couple, family and friends . There are numbers of pub and restaurant around but unlike the one you find in nana or kaosan area where you just get outside of the hotel and you find boost and bar girls all over the place. If you are looking for bang bang place around or girl standing on the street and offering service for a price, this hotel is not for you. This hotel is very convenience too. Very quiet at night as this area is very residential. The room has excellent bed and new linen, powerful hot shower. and new towel. Everything needed was provided. What suppress me most is the breakfast. Normally you get toast, butter, jelly and instant coffee. But this hotel give noodle soup, curry with rice, tim sum and freshly prepare coffee. Best coffee in the world. All you can eat. All in all, they are giving me more than what I paid for and they are more than my expectation.
