"Great host; Ali helped me enormously with my self drive loop. We’ve rented the bikes from him (which were great) and he helped us with all the recommended stops and the dos and donts of the trip. When we came back he was again super helpful and offered us a room (for free) for us to take a shower, etc. until our transport arrived. Strongly recommended!"

"Dung is the man. Took care of me my whole stay. Went beyond the call of duties to make sure I had a remarkable time, sightseeing, meeting locals, great experiences that you might call once in a lifetime. However, I made a true friend, and plan to go back in a few months."

"Came here with a group of friends for a weekend getaway and we had such a great time. The resort is spacious, super green, and surrounded by mountains we spent so much time just walking around, taking in the view. We played pickleball and even had a small football match in the afternoon, which was a fun surprise. At night we booked the herbal baths and chilled by the pool. Everything felt very local and calming, not touristy or loud"

"The bungalow is great but the staff is absolutely terrible. > Check-in We could not find the staff at the reception. She was sleeping not far from the reception. We had to assume the receptionist was the person sleeping not far from the reception once we saw her. > Motorbike rental Don't go there if you want to travel alone - They are not flexible and refuse half day rent or to give you a motorbike early in the morning so that you can avoid the police bribe at the exit of the city. We were forced to leave with a group at 9am before paying the bribe and then breaking from the group > Food The kitchen is said to close at 8:30 but it was actually closed at 8:15. The staff was still there but we were declined to order food because the staff already cleaned the kitchen. They offered a frozen pizza if we wanted. > Charge We were charge an extra night despite paying everything before check-in on hotel.com. They refund us but it has been complicated.... > Motorbike quality We had a puncture and had to change the back wheel brake when noticing it was really close to obsolescense. Very dangerous to get their motorbike if you travel without one of their group. "

"Nice room and comfortable bed with ensuite bathroom/shower. Bus from sapa drops you outside door. Staff very friendly and helpful and helped me book a cheaper bus to cao bang than i was going to. Around 30 minute walk into centre but many places to each closer than that. I would definitely stay again."

"This is a very nice hotel. I did not expect a lot because Ha Giang is not huge for tourism, and, to be honest, the room rates were not expensive. However, i was delighted to find myself in a lovely hotel, modern, clean, well-maintained. Our room was great, with double aspect windows, a good size, modern bathroom. The buffet breakfast was good with plenty of choices. The staff at reception were very helpful & spoke good English (I did not expect that!) They organised a car & driver for us the following day, so that we could see the beautiful scenery around Ha Giang. Above, all, I will always remember sitting on the lovely terrace at the back of the hotel, enjoying a cold beer! This terrace looks across a lovely river with high karst mountains on the other side. It really is a stunning setting & i am surprised that the hotel doesn't show more pictures of this in it's advertising!! It is not often that a hotel has such a tempting and lovely outlook to offer. So, if anyone reads this and is thinkjng of going to Ha Giang - definitely go there!!! It's a lovely town in a beautiful mountain & riverside setting, with a stunning surrounding area.....and i very much recommend staying at The Phoenix Hotel!!! (I don't usually write so much in a review.....but this horel & place were such a lovely surprise!!"
