Lovely and relaxing property. The location was amazing, it sits right on a perfect NZ pohutukawa shaded white sand beach shared only with a few other local holiday houses. The hosts were lovely and accommodating, and the food hearty and delicious
Beautiful beach huts, in a stunning quiet bay.
Kiera was a fantastic host, providing water, milk and freshly picked bananas!
Kayaks and SUPs available.
Beach houses are mostly well equipped. I'd recommend either visitors to bring or property to provide: large black bin bags, as all rubbish must be taken off the island with you, towels (no hand towels in property) and same with soap/shower gel.
Was a lovely stay and would definitely go again!

Misrepresented holiday experience
The advertisement of the property was misleading. It didn’t say we will have to pay for the ferry to get to the property which was very expensive each way, and pay extra if you wanted to hop around to other parts of the island. Found out after the booking confirmation (non refundable) that we had to take own food as there were no cafes, restaurants or grocery store! Water was not normal tap water.
The room was very clean and tidy. The staff were exceptionally helpful and the location is just stunning. I’d love to highly recommend this place – but don’t want too many people to find out about it :)
Amazing location, loungers on the beach, fabulous beach front alfresco dining, on site restaurant served great food with a homely touch. Service was impeccable yet casual and friendly. Large rooms, nice bathrooms. The fit out of the room is nice but fairly basic if comparing to a 4-5 star hotel
The location is beautiful. But the seaview room we stayed in was more 3 star motel than what we expected for the price. Dismal customer relations from the management, trying to charge us after we left for ferry tickets we had already paid for
The beach house is in a lovely bay that is shared with just a few other homes so it is very private. Our hosts, were absolutely wonderful...considerate & charming. We had a fabulous seafood platter for lunch & an excellent 3 course degustation evening meal .A great hot breakfast came with the tariff. Accomodation was beautifully appointed.. Would recommend The Beach House for a lovely getaway , good food , good wine good service in beautiful surroundings.
the property is just lovely. The food was excellent with nice little touches and different presentation. Luke and his partner were friendly and most helpful
Amazing stay! 5 star service! We were met on the pier where Luke carried out bags and showed us around. We received a free upgrade and had an amazing relaxing stay! We will definitely be back again! No need to go to Fiji or Tahiti! You can escape to paradise here!
The Beach House was amazing ... we had a beautiful day in paradise. The view from our room was spectacular and the meals served by the chef were extraordinary!
Spent two nights in January and it was very relaxed and beautiful. The manager and chef are awesome. Exceptional service and very very good food - but be aware that you will be limited to a few options from the hotel as that's the only place to eat. It's a fun but low key beach with day visitors coming on boats.
Loved it. Staff were friendly and the area was beautiful

Relaxing stay by the beach
This was a very relaxing two day stay for us. Our room had a very private balcony right next to the beach where we enjoyed reading and listening to the waves. But for what we paid, we expected more from the room amenities. The bathroom was small and the water pressure in the shower was terrible. The room did not have a minifridge or snack basket. We arrived and hadn’t eaten lunch and then had to wait to eat anything until supper, so we were hungry. The room had a small heater but no a/c or fan. It was fine when we were there and the temperature didn’t go above 20C, but I can’t imagine being there when it’s any warmer without a fan at least. The food made by Alan was absolutely delicious the whole time we were there. And Vicki was a very kind host. Altogether it was a very relaxing trip, but the price for the rooms was a bit steep for what they offered.
Had a wonderful stay, it was relaxing and quiet and the visiting dolphins were a nice bonus!! The hotel managers were great, very accommodating and the restaurant food was delicious. We would definitely stay again and recommend the beach house to everyone.
Back in 1975 we'd honeymooned at Mansion House when there were motel units on the grounds. Must have set us off on the right track, cos here we are back on the island again for some quiet together time.
Fantastic.
Katie and Zeyn were excellent hosts that provided an exceptionally hospitable service - even in the face of irregular or quirky requests.
Would definitely recommend and visit again.
Katie and Zeyn were amazing hosts from the time we arrived to when we left. The food was beautiful with attention to detail and accommodation spotless. I would recommend to anyone, we will be back with family next time. Thank you for a lovely weekend, Anne and Garth McVicar
