Superb Location

Beautiful property that is minutes from a lovely park, downtown Onehunga with grocery and shops, as well as bus and train service to the city.. Unbelievably convenient! Quiet, well appointed, and a great place to stay.

Little Oasis

Absolutely adorable stay in an oasis of a space ❤️ The living quarters were impeccable and comfortable (the bed was super comfy), and the yard space just outside your door is like a zen garden. So very soothing. We had the pleasure of meeting the hosts daughter and she was positively lovely! Would definitely recommend staying here.

Lovely property, great location - would give 4.5 stars if I could

Everything about this place was great - very close to groceries and takeaway, while also being a short drive from the city centre. It was clean and well-equipped with all the usual kitchen and laundry stuff you would need, plus some beautiful views of the city from the bedroom loft. Christian (the person living in the property's main house) was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The only complaint I might have was in the day leading up to check-in - along with the instructions to get inside the key box, there was a request to text a picture of valid ID and credit card to the host. I have heard more than enough scam stories to know to never do this, just seemed illegitimate. I could understand the reasoning behind it, but as we arrived in Auckland (another city we'd never been to) it caused my wife and I some unneeded stress. There was also a COVID tracer app warning that made it seem like you couldn't enter the place without checking into the NZ tracer app (can't remember the exact phrasing). Someone visiting from out-of-country would probably not be anticipating this, especially in 2024, so the Vrbo listing could use an update. All in all though, truly a lovely place to stay. Special thanks to Christian for reaching out to us while we were there and making sure all was well.

pretty setting and pleasant place and people. Very hot upstairs at night and steep staircase to negotiate to bathroom during the night. I hadnt noticed a reference to this during the booking.

What a hidden diamond , beautiful property fabulous hosts who were very generous and shared oranges from their garden amidst lovely conversation in a beautiful character home. You do need to be able to climb stairs however if you are this is a must visit- we loved it

All is great about this place!

The location is excellent, being very close to Onehunga train, bus and mall. One bus to the airport or one train downtown. The hosts were kind and stored our bikes and bags while we went shopping! Loads of shopping and restaurants nearby, including Countdown. It has a full kitchen for those wanting to eat in. It feels like home with a very comfy bed, couch, and even washer and dryer. You will want to spend more than one night!

Surprise in Onehunga

Loved this cottage. Decor and facilities have been thoughtfully designed for guests. Hosts are welcoming and not intrusive. Surprising is that Onehunga normally wouldn’t be a destination in Auckland however, we found everything so convenient, still being in central Auckland. Shopping and eating out is eclectic in Onehunga with both the village and Dressmart being a 2 minute walk from the property! The electric train just five minutes walk and is a direct line into Newmarket and downtown Auckland City. Easy for us to then catch a ferry across to Waiheke. Lovely day out.
