Sweetie in Onetangi
Gorgeous, curated, eclectic treehouse with everything you might need. If driving beware of google maps directions (wrong). Helpful info, excellent location (need 4 wheel dve to access driveway). Booking info spot on. Loved this delightful space and unreservedly recommend.

Waiheke bach mixed review
The location was good and the bach interesting BUT the access was steep and slippery and the stairs in the house were very steep. Hardly any room round the bed so unsuitable for older people or those who need to get up in the night. Bit gloomy in the trees.

Thanks for your feedback. We do list these issue in the description for our Bach, as it might not suit the elderly or potential guests with mobility issues.

Magical
Arrived at night and awoke to a chorus of tuis and a tranquil bush setting, I was quite magical. The Bach was superbly set up and located. A proper Bach with amazing creative and funky interior design, great artwork and presentation. Someone is super talented and has a great eye for functionality coupled with creative flare in equal measures. It was a pleasure staying at this Bach. Would and and am planning to stay here again.

Absolutely fantastic
Once again it was a real privilege to enjoy Waiheke in this space. A wonderful Bach with everything you need nestled in the forest close to the supermarket and beach. We had some great weather and really enjoyed our Easter weekend.

Beautiful Nikau Grovei
A classic family batch complete with art works at every turn. Modern comfort of heat pumps for the cooler mornings hidden in the Nikau Grove. Use of all the culinary extras that a family situation accumulates. Short but steep drive to parking platform easy to negotiate after the first time. No risk.

Went very well. We enjoyed the bush setting, the indoor and outdoor artworks and the coffee machine! A very comfortable bach, has a steep staircase to mezzanine bedroom. All in all a very comfortable bach.

Great place to relax
This was a really lovely bach. It was a nice place to relax with some friends as it was a fairly quiet in the area and we were a short drive from some beautiful beaches. Great communication from the host, no hassle. Would recommend bringing a car as if possible. Overall we had a great stay.

Super relaxing spot
We had the best time staying at Nikau Cottage in the bush on Waiheke. It was the prefect spot to unwind and use as a base for busing/walking to and from local wineries and beaches. Thanks heaps to John and Kerin who made us feel so welcome with their attentive communication and generosity. We will definitely be returning to stay here. Maria, Stuart, Jean and Carole.

A perfect bach holiday
Don’t even hesitate to book this lovely bach if you want to escape the hustle and bustle and simply relax for a short while. With kids travelling too it can be hard to keep them amused but this place was so full of treasures to explore and play with there wasn’t one grumble, and the beach was such a short distance away! I’m super pleased I found this place and I will look to book again next time I’m in Waiheke.

Funky bush batch
A cool wee place, good place to chill. Definitely a handy location. Was what we had expected, and a little more, so definitely recommend it. We had a very rainy patch of weather so was a little musty when we got there, but to expect anything else for a place nestled in what is essentially a rain forest would be being picky. It would be awesome in mid summer. Bring mozzie repellent. Good instructions from hosts, no complaints, too easy. Cheers!

Cosy and peaceful for a weekend getaway
The bach had everything we needed for a lovely weekend away. The bach had that cocoon feeling looking out to the Nikau Palms. The large windows with the bench seat was a lovely place to curl up and read a book or watch the rain falling trough the bush.

Felt like staying in a treehouse. Such a relaxing, comfortable & inspiring space. Big windows looking out. Was a lovely way to watch the rain from the couch 😄. Oh & you'll get to enjoy a sweet coffee machine. Such a fab location. Short walk down to the beach with the smell of jasmine in the air, & olive trees swaying in the breeze. You won't want to leave!

Great location, great value
We really enjoyed our stay as the bach is tucked away from it all and completely private while still only a few minutes from Onetangi beach. The place is well equipped from the coffee machine to the guitar and the art is fantastic. A perfect cozy little hideaway in between beach visits. The bush was great given the sun and heat we experienced, but I imagine it can feel quite damp in wet weather. Definitely bring mosquito nets or a handful of plug-in mozzie repellers and some power boards if you want to keep windows open.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. The mozzies can be an issue outside at certain times of the year. We do have two plug in anti mozzie devices at the Bach which work well, but you have to keep the windows closed at night. We have two heat pumps which keep the Bach cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Thanks again for your feedback. John & Kerin.

Lovely bush cottage with lots of amenities. We had a good stay. Only thing to be aware of is the mosquitos, which can be vicious, but there is repellent and fly spray provided. Overall very nice place.

Thanks for your feedback. We have now put mosquito nets over the two beds. And the plug in mosquito repellent device usually stops them coming into the Bach. We recommend you keep the windows closed at night to stop any bugs flying into the Bach and turn on the aircon/heat pump if it’s too hot or cold.

Birds, beauty, earthiness, excellence, peace, pottery, clean, cleverly-designed, relaxing, retreat... this place offers it all. Generous, well-organised hosts have created a stunning hideaway surrounded by bush but also within easy walking distance of the beach and bus-stops.
