Perfect get away
Nelson base camp is unique in its layout, lots of history displayed throughout. Host provided comforts for us, including the wood ready for the fire, hot tub with plenty of towels. We rally enjoyed our stay!

This was an amazing property. We love the facility, the location, and interactions involved with the facility. My wife and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary here and we didn't want to leave. We fell I'm love with the house and it's decor. It was well stocked, including snacks. The bed was comfortable and we were cozy. It's location was just a hop skip and jump from small towns and not far from Paradise on Mt Rainier. And we loved the hot tub... it rained but we still got to enjoy the fire pit and s'mores. Thank you for allowing us to stay here. We loved it!!!

We enjoyed our stay. It was a bit nerve racking to not be able to lock the glass door at the front of the house. We had everything we needed. There was dog poop around the driveways and the fire pit was completely covered so couldn’t use. The hot tub was a bit dirty and the lights went off in the gazebo. Overall it was a great getaway

Mt. Rainier Retreat
The cabin is lovely and very authentic and rustic. The bed is super comfortable. Full sized fridge and stove are nice. The hot tub is wonderful, especially when it is raining. The free-standing heat/AC unit is a little noisy, but heats the cabin no problem with low temps in the low 40's. This cabin is in the woods and surrounded by trees.

We enjoyed our stay in this log cabin. The wooden bear out front is such a fun greeting for guests. We will definitely stay here again. Close to Mt Rainier gate. We recommend this cabin and the host was wonderful.

The place with every amenity you could think of.
We were here to see Mount Ranier. It was late when we got there. We spent the entire day at Mount Rainier and got back too late than to do anything but sleep. Then in the morning, we packed and left. I feel that we needed one more night to just enjoy all of the features of this cabin. We didn’t get to use the hot tub, do laundry, cook a meal, relax on the swing in the front, have a campfire, etc… we loved the place and would definitely stay longer the next time!

A wonderful wooded getaway.
This cabin was cozy and comfortable, a perfect blend of rustic style and modern convenience in a beautiful wooded setting just a few minutes' drive from Mt. Rainier National Park. Check in was super easy, and check out was simple, too. There is one double bed downstairs. The second one is in the loft accessed by a ladder, which should be a consideration for parties with limited mobility, but the loft is cozy and comfortable and I enjoyed claiming it as my space for our visit. :) Plenty of extra blankets are provided for cool evenings. The kitchen is stocked with all kinds of pots and pans fir meal prep. Lots of windows and skylights provide plenty of light and are screened if you want to enjoy fresh air. It's a very comfortable place to stay.

Amazing place!
We absolutely loved this place. Location was super convenient to get to the park and there were plenty of restaurants to eat at around it. Our favorite part was the hot tub! We took a dip both days after our hikes and it made a huge difference. It’s such a cute and homey place!

I am coming back!
Great wooded setting, pleasant cabin, very well appointed. The surround of windows brought the woods into the cabin. We relaxed into the luxury of the hot tub, the new overstuffed electric recliners, the warm glow of the excellent wood stove, the the big screen with WiFi, and the comfortable beds. The olden day decor gave us a trip into the past. The neighborhood was quiet and dwellings spaced to give privacy. Yes, we will come back!

Our stay was everything we were hoping for, very quiet neighborhood and private feeling very close access to mt Rainer the jacuzzi was a very nice touch after a long day hiking everything was fantastic the host was very accommodating and our only complaint was that we didn’t plan more time at this cute little cabin! Cozy Comforts, Great Location
Well appointed cozy cabin makes a great base camp for local activities. Very convenient to MRNP entrance - Longmire village, not too far to Paradise. Nice kitchen, comfortable living room relaxation seating. Lots of outdoor space to utilize for sitting, soaking, sipping, etc. would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. Note - one needs to have at least average agility to navigate the ladder to the loft, and the loft has a slanted slightly short ceiling for those over 6 foot tall.

Cool little cabin in the woods. We enjoyed the firepit, hot tub, and auto-recliners. Lots of whimsical, personal touches. Well equipped. The neighborhood was more built up than I expected (more suburban than rural), but peaceful and very close to the national park.

We had such a fantastic stay at Nelson Base Camp, what a wonderful place! The hosts made sure the property was extremely well prepared for our arrival, and the place and proximity to Mt Rainier was perfect. The space was exactly what we needed for a weekend escape, and the hot tub and firepit were great bonuses. We would absolutely love to stay again.

Nelson Base Camp
We enjoyed our small trip to Nelson Base Camp. The architecture was amazing! We loved all the windows and the natural light. The hot tub hut was an added plus and the way the back door and outside walkway felt like it was part of the inside of the house was incredible. The kitchen offers you the flexibility to make your own meal which we highly recommend because local dining is limited.

Fun time!
The cabin is so cute...we had a great time. We used this as our base camp since we took the grandsons to NW Trek and then up to Paradise, Mt. Rainier. The weather was off and on rain, mostly on but we played games, walked and in the evening we watched movies (good selection). Only used the hot tub once and would have liked to have used more but found out one of the grandsons is allergic to chlorine (oh well). Cute little place and very rustic. Just what we needed for a get-away. Oh and the Easter Bunny found the grandsons.

Great, restorative time in front of the fire and in the hot tub. Nice big windows keeping the cabin flooded with natural light. It’s a nice little woodland community with such easy access to Rainier. Nature even conspired to keep us off our phones by felling a tree on the power lines outside the cabin. 10/10

We loved the uniqueness of the cabin and decor in and outside the cabin. Just the right amount of fun. The cabin has lots of natural sunlight, and the beds are comfy. There weren’t any matches or lighters that we could find to light the fireplace, but we lucked out as the weather was beautiful! There can also be lingering smoke in the neighborhood from everyone burning wood stoves. It is a great location to visit the park as paradise is only ~30 mins away.

Most Amazing Little Getaway!
This place exceeded my girlfriend and I’s expectation!! This log cabin had so much character and was so unique! We had an amazing stay here and didn’t want to leave! It was so cozy and the perfect vibe we were looking for to escape into the mountains of Washington and get away from San Diego! I highly recommend coming here to enjoy the snow and have time slow down for a bit! I can’t wait to come back in the summer!!

We stayed for 2 nights in January. It was very relaxing. Husband was stressed with work, this was just what he needed. Small snafu with the WiFi, but our host made it right. We loved the hot tub. The cabin is very clean, and well maintained. It was warm for January so we didn’t use the wood stove. Thank you so much.

Had a cozy stay with lots of wood to keep warm, and a hot tub for popping into after hiking. Beds/pillows are quite comfortable. However, he air mattress wasn’t staying fully inflated for more than about 20min after laying on it during our stay. We mentioned it, and it sounded like Darcy was on it. We were fine using the thermarests and sleeping bags instead. The kitchen is suitable for basic meals, and the oven/stove work well. Just be aware that it is a very tiny space and cooking bigger meals is a bit tricky. If you have favorite larger frying pan, it might be useful to bring it, and some foil. The laundry room is awesome!! We loved the location; we visit the area often and we enjoyed staying over in this development for the first time. It is still QUITE private, and we had deer peeking in the windows every day, and a Douglas squirrel chitting at us. Heads up, this property does allow dogs, and there is some dog hair in the rugs, and under (we spilled a glass of water and had to move one to clean). Not too big of a deal, but just so anyone with an animal hair allergy knows!

Excellent cabin getaway
What a fantastic, thoughtfully cared for, rustic, and creative home away from home. I loved all the details in both the design and decor as well as the extras provided for us guests. I cannot wait to return both in winter again and in summer. The hot tub was the icing on an amazing weekend getaway cake! The only and yet significant point of critical feedback was a strong body odor coming from the main couch, on the left side when facing the couch. There was a similar scent on some of the throw blankets unfortunately too. A good upholstery cleaning would hopefully do the trick. Thank you for sharing your Dad's home with us. What an honor it was to carry on the love and passion he must've felt in the great outdoors!

Nice, quiet getaway for Thanksgiving
My family and I enjoyed our time away from Seattle at the cabin. the hot tub was a bonus that we used everyday! The cabin was cozy and very well stocked with everything we needed. We would have loved a vacuum so we could clean up the floor while we were there, most because I am a neat freak, and I more cleaning wipes were definitely needed too. I already shared the listing with friends, and the cabin is on my list of properties I would go back too. Thank you for the time away.

We stayed at the cabin during summer 2021. We found everything exactly as advertised. Darcy communicated with us in advance with details we needed to know, and she was very responsive whenever I had questions. We had to make a change to our reservation before we arrived, and Darcy was very helpful and accommodating. We found the cabin quiet, comfortable, and relaxing, and it had everything we needed. It was easy to find, and it had plenty of room for a group of three. I rate this property 9/10. I’m docking a point for the VRBO experience. There were a couple of VRBO issues along the way. Those were not Darcy’s fault directly, but since VRBO was the reservation platform, those problems made up a part of the overall experience.

We loved this cabin! It is is so cozy with the perfect amount of quirk and had everything we needed for a little fall weekend. We made really good use of the hot tub and fire place. Great little cabin near Mt Rainier!
We loved this place! Had everything we needed for our visit to the national park. The kitchen was well stocked, enough sleeping beds for our family of four and the hot tub was amazing. The location just outside the park was great too. We had to shorten our trip by a day as we got closer to our checkin date and they refunded me the one night smoothly. Highly recommend!
