The best area to stay in Anfo is right along the shores of Lake Idro, particularly in the vicinity of the Rocca d'Anfo.

This area offers direct access to the lake, with many accommodations providing stunning views and waterside activities. The Rocca d'Anfo, a historic fortress, is a prominent landmark here, offering guided tours and a glimpse into the region's past. The main road, SP237, runs along the lake, making it easy to get around, and there are several small beaches and jetties superb for swimming or launching a kayak.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find this area particularly appealing. The quiet mornings by the lake, the opportunity for leisurely walks along the shore, and dinners with a view create a wonderfully relaxing setting. Many accommodations here cater to a peaceful, romantic experience.

Families will also appreciate the convenience and activities available. With the lake right on your doorstep, children can enjoy swimming, paddleboarding, or simply playing by the water.

The best time to visit Anfo is during the spring (April to June) and early autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer pleasant weather, ideal for exploring the outdoors without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter. You'll find comfortable temperatures for hiking in the surrounding mountains, enjoying water sports on Lake Idro, and strolling through the village. The natural scenery is particularly beautiful with blooming flora in spring and rich colours in autumn.

For those looking to enjoy the lake and outdoor activities with fewer crowds, particularly couples seeking a more tranquil experience, late spring and early autumn are perfect. You can enjoy boat trips, paddleboarding, or simply relax by the water in a more peaceful setting.
