Stunning walks on the doorstep with an extensive network of footpaths and bridleways, ideal for walkers and birdwatchers. Superb bluebell woods within walking distance from the house. Excellent mountain biking opportunities, with easy access to off-road trails. For good road biking, National Cycle route 24 runs from Andover to Romsey along the Test Way, Route 246 and 4 from Andover to Newbury along beautiful Hampshire and Berkshire country lanes. A short drive to some outstanding local chalk-stream fly fishing. Free flood-lit tennis court 2 minutes drive. A 20 minute drive to the World Heritage site of Stonehenge, and also Avebury and Danebury Ring, and a 30 minute drive to the cathedral towns of Winchester and Salisbury. The market towns of Andover and Newbury are a 7 and 20 minute driver, respectively. The village of Highclere with the famous Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey fame) is a 20 minute drive from the house. Approximately 20 minute drive to the famous 'Bombay Saphire' gin distillery, with guided tours and cocktail courses available. The distillery is next door to the equally famous Watership Down pub (setting for the Watership Down book), a beautiful location for a delicious meal, and also walking distance to 'Hardy's' plants, with horticultural courses available on propagation, and rare plants for your garden. Local farm shops within 10 minutes drive, selling excellent, locally sourced produce, with sausage-making courses available. Direct train line from Andover to London Waterloo (1 hour 5 minutes) with easy access to the cultural highlights of the city. Chickens, cats and three quiet, lovable golden retriever dogs (Carly, Winnie and Bruno) also on site, and horses next door.

A lovely place to stay. We ended up staying 4 months in between a property move. Rob and Maggie were so flexible and couldn’t do enough to help. A perfect and peaceful location. Would definitely recommend. Thank you again. Vince and Jules

Lovely week long stay at Oakcroft
We very much loved our stay at Rob and Maggie's annex in Tangley in between house moves. We felt very welcome and had all the amenities we needed for the week. The location is wonderful and The Fox pub opposite does lovely Thai food. Our 4 year old daughter loved playing on the trampoline, with their dogs and chickens. Very much recommend this rental. 5/5!

Rob and Maggie were fantastic hosts and very attentive and friendly. Well situated location for days out to Highclere Castle, Blenheim Palace, Beaulieu and even a day in London via train. The garden was great for the children (ages 7-14). Football net, trampoline, table tennis table, swings and tree swing and friendly dogs to play with. The children also liked collecting eggs from the chickens. The accomodation was very comfortable and the best equiped kitchen we have experienced. Would definitely recommend!

Felt so welcome
From the first minute we arrived Rob and Maggie were the perfect hosts. We received such a warm welcome from them and their 3 dogs and from then on it felt like we were part of the family. The annexe is so comfortable and had everything we needed. The garden is big and beautiful and the chickens laying fresh eggs every day a real bonus. The location is perfect for everything in the area with the Thai pub literally a.minutes walk away. I cannot thank Rob and Maggie enough and would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area

You won’t be disappointed
A warm welcome awaits from Maggie and Rob when you stay at the Oakcroft Annexe. Country location with plenty of walks nearby. Very well stocked kitchen and accommodation . Spent a wonderful two months there, particularly when their two retrievers and four puppies were there. Not to forget the chickens and their delicious eggs. Nothing is too much trouble as Maggie and Rob are there to assist and they welcomed our visitors making it feel like home for the time we stayed. Can recommend wholeheartedly. Thank you Maggie and Rob and missing Carly, Winnie and Bruno.
