It is convenient when it's only for a few hours. For me it was mostly because of my early flight and the Inn has very good and friendly airport transportation. The front desk agent that checked me in was very friendly. The Inn is very dated and the bed was not clean. The walls are paper thin and there was a coming and going the whole night,which made sleeping impossible.

The only decent area was the lobby. The first room we were given was up a steep outside staircase. The room smelled like it had just been painted an hour before we went in, bright white but still old and very outdated. Pillowcases looked old and dingy. Finally, found us another room, so we hauled all the luggage back down the steep stairs, back across the parking lot, down the hall from the lobby to a decent room but still old, door handle on the room needed repair. The place needs a complete remodel or tear down, never again!

The breakfast is decent. The room we stayed has poor insulation. The noise from the upstair keep us awake all night, luckily we only stayed 1 night

We had a Very late arrival from the airport, others were arriving too. With just 1 clerk on deck she was Extremely busy. We were exhausted from travel and someone offered to show us to our room (which wouldve heen easier to find just by going outside). The Elevator didnt work, so we opted for a walk outside. Room was fine but carpet definitely needs replacing. Bathroom clean. Lobby was welcoming. Muffins were available in the AM were delish! We were Extremely grateful to find a room at such a late hour after airline difficulties.

We walked into the room and the bathroom sink is a pedestal sink at the foot of the bed . Smelled really bad and exhaust fan was on. Bathroom door (closet size ) next to bed with stool/shower directly in front of stool with no room. to dress or put towels/clothes . We saw guest across from us who were equally unhappy and had two twin beds . We waited 20-30 minutes to get checked in and another to try and check out . Watched the girl who checked us in leave and when we tried to check out were told the girl who had just left was the manager and they had no way to check us out . The girl who said she couldn’t check us out appeared to be on something and it didn’t feel safe . She refused to give us a checkout slip stating she couldn’t until the next day and said we would have to get it from Expedia . She fave us a wrong number for Expedia . I went to holiday inn express and rented a room for 300 . Not sure I would use Expedia again after this experience

Close to airport was bonus, staff very nice. The room was very very hot which made it uncomfortable to sleep. Short stay so worked out but for price would look elsewhere if longer stay.

Was initially put in the annex building, which was very dated and smelled musty with mold in the bath tiles. No working wifi. Front desk staff moved us to the main building into the suite which was a great improvement with the exception of missing light bulbs. One of the front desk staff had minimal public relations experience and it showed.

The room was clean. But each day our key was timed out, and had to be reactivated. The water was only warm at best, in the late morning, or evening. And the paintings on the wall vibrated all night.

The keys can be deactivated if put next to a phone is the only thing I can think that would make them need to be reactivated daily.

The staff was friendly; the breakfast is too expensive, and the adjoining Chinese restaurant has poor staff and a high price as well.The elevator is old, and the room is nice, but could use a touch-up.

Very dated hotel . I believe there was black mold in that bathtub area. Chair at entrance was almost shredded and cracked (really should just remove the eye sore). Internet was down so no TV (not necessarily the hotels fault). The staff was very friendly at check in tho. Close to airport and cheap if that’s what you’re looking for.

Front desk staff in the morning were very unhelpful. Much of the breakfast items were empty and they made no effort to replenish anything. Even when we asked for items to be restocked they made no effort to make it happen

Staff did their best and even got me checked in early but i think they teeter on overworked environments. Having 1 person run the desk during the day should be a no on the weekends. Also had some rowdy customers in and around the hotel that made me a little concerned

Property was in a convenient location and fairly common inexpensive due to using Expedia Bucks. Cleanliness of room/bathroom left something to be desired. Staff did a great job and was very responsive and helpful. The wake up call message stated it was from another hotel (in Seward AK that I am guessing is owned by the same company) little things like that make it appear shoddy.

We were very satisfied with this hotel. It’s very convenient for an overnight stay close to the Anchorage airport. The shuttle service was excellent as well. We would definitely stay here again.

This place was a hole in the wall, including the bullet hole that was in the window of the lobby. The rooms were disgustingly filthy, and the room was advertised with queen beds. However it was a double bed that was jammed against the wall and my husband and I didn’t fit, since he’s very tall. When asked to upgrade, the front desk said that queen beds were all they had. The annex next-door had two queen beds however she neglected to tell us that.

All of our rooms have queen beds, we have no Full beds here at the hotel. There is absolutley NO Bullet holes in teh window we had some kids thro wrocks and hit our window which is what you saw.

I booked a room with 2 queen beds for 2 adults and 2 kids. We arrived at the inn and waited at the front counter for more than 45 minutes. They kept having system error. Finally we were told they could only give us a room with 1 queen bed as they dont have a room with 2 queen beds available. We asked whether we could take 2 rooms then as we could not fit 4 people in one queen bed. They refused and said they can only give us 1 room. The inn was overbooked and did not provide the room we booked. The staff were not willing to accommodate and solve the issue. It was very disappointing. We had to leave the inn and find another hotel in the midnight with 2 kids!!! I would not recommend this inn.

When booking at the Puffin Inn, be very cognizant that the Puffin Inn and Puffin Inn Annex are very different. The Puffin Inn appears to be in better shape than the Annex. The Annex is an older property that definitely shows its age. We are pretty easy going when it comes to hotel/motel accommodations. They were definitely trying but there was mold in the shower, the AC unit looked ancient and dusty, the window coverings/shades were obviously not designed for the windows and did not adequately cover them to keep street lights/daylight out and the bedspreads had stains. The evening front desk lady wasn't exactly what I would call friendly but instead just going thru the motions to get us checked in. The continental breakfast was average. For a single night to catch an early flight it was convenient but the price we paid was definitely to high for what we got.

Booked a room with 2 beds. Was sent to a room with 1. Went back to lobby. Sent to another room in “the annex” down the street and up stairs (no elevator). Again only 1 bed. Called lobby. Apparently was given a key to the wrong room. I’ve now been up for 24 hours and still trying to get in a room.
