Property was good for price, but as an older building we had issues with outlets not working and only one elevator. There is also a luggage room advertised, but it’s just an open shelf/floor space on next to the front desk, which wasn’t ideal.

The area is nice, the night staff much more friendlier then the day one, now the room and hotel feels really old, except for the bathroom in the room, the pillows were very worn, elevator broke down.

Hotel was well situated and convenient for transport. Staff were lovely. Got what we needed, our only notes were the room (carpet) had an odor/dated. TV was ancient (no use of apps etc) and remote was quite dirty. Had a pleasant time there nonetheless.

Do not stay at this hotel. Don't be fooled by the cheap rooms and the three stars. We booked a modern twin room We arrived late in the evening with our two children. -There was mould on the walls and in the bathroom. - it smelt very bad -it was noisy -when I sat on the bed, my backside almost when to the floor as the mattress was clearly decades old -it was disgusting and had not been renovated since the 20th century I requested to change room but we had to wait until the next day. They upgraded us. It looked OK. But when we went to bed, we pulled off the mattress sheet to see the most grim looking stained and bobbly mattresses you can imagine. I would attach photos if possible. See the reviews on other sites for the photos. We left the next day (a few days early) as it was unsafe for children and adults alike. Management wouldn't reply to my emails and refused to refund me even for the nights we didn't stay I claimed the money back on my credit card and listed it as a scam. Something to keep in mind. Stay well away from this place. It's not a hotel. It's not 3 stars. Don't fall for it.

Beds & pillows were terrible. Bathrooms were clean. Not a lot of plug ins to charge devises for 3 people. Toilet was separated from shower & sink, so that was odd & there was nowhere to wash hands after using toilet if shower was occupied. Room was small, but that was fine. Nice cool temperature in the room. Good location close to tram & restaurants, nice neighbourhood.

The hotel is a little old but it was very comfortable either way and close to everything I walked everywhere and took the tram occasionally. If you’re not going to be staying in your room all day this is the hotel for you.

Would be great to have a gym or a deal with the gym across the street. Also, it only has 2 parking spaces that you must reserve in advance so the description of parking is misleading as it would seem ample parking is available. With that said, we very much enjoyed the location, cleanliness and nice staff.

Very nice & comfortable with super friendly staff
Because the hotel was at a more reasonable price than other 3 start in the area, I expected there to be some problems...but everything was lovely. Nice clean comfortable room with interesting plumbing type arty fixtures. Very good and very friendly service particularly from Laura on reception who was very kind when I left my phone plug after checking out

Nice and tidy and quiet, Easy to get to and from (airport or amsterdam central) by trams or buses Great staff that were quick to fix the couple of little issues that we had. Would definitely stay again

Very small room, for 5 days the bedding wasn’t change at all, insufficient item for breakfast, bikes weren’t maintained. Otherwise great location , good for walking and transportation.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. It was incredibly dirty with stains everywhere, extremely dirty carpets, bed, walls. The room was also like a tiny attic where you constantly bump your head everywhere. Broken window. The air conditioner was broken and it was blasting incredibly cold air non stop, and on top of that, it was dirty air and smelt repulsive like a toilet. We notified the staff of this issue and they could not fix it and were not helpful in any way and told us to deal with it. They expected us to stay in a room that had non stop freezing air blowing and sewage smells all night. Every other hotel was booked out and we were essentially left with no choice. The staff were extremely rude and blamed us for not letting them know about the aircon / smell issue earlier and that it is our problem, they had no accountability and I would avoid this hotel if I were you.

We absolutely loved staying here, it was so clean and was super easy to get to from the airport! The AC was great as it was warm and also the vending machine was handy for late night snacks/drinks. Would definitely come back and would recommend 10/10

Just outside of the city center but walkable. Restaurants, museums and a supermarket very close by. Very quite street and beautiful neighborhood. Will definitely be back.

Great hotel
I enjoyed my stay at the Albert Hotel. The immediate area was clean and had a bunch of upscale shops and restaurants. There are several bus and tram stops within 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel that can bring you to where you need to go in the city. Bikes are also available for rent. Service is attentive as well.

The central heating radiator in our room could not be turned off resulting in the room being absolutely red hot during the night and day. The shower flooded the bathroom floor and we had to ask for extra towels to mop up the water in the bathroom. This was just due to the waste water from the shower not being contained in the shower cubicle and this must be a problem for all guests who use this shower - when i complained to the receptionist she just gave me more towels and did not wish to send someone to view the problem - very bad service.

Great spot in the city! Nice and quiet area but still could get access to the center via train! The location was a short walk to the park and also was near the museums! There is a coffee shop right across the street too, which was convenient in the mornings!

the janitor staff knocked at our door at 10am to ask whether we need room make up service or not, she claimed that she has finished all her work already. another one woke us the next day saying it's time to check out, which still had an hour to go actually. the room is a bit small, but still acceptable.

Great location- safe, easy access to transit, museums, restaurants, shops and supermarket. Nothing fancy but if you are looking for an economical place to stay, this fits the bill. Pleasant staff. Quadruple room cramped-- bathroom vanity too small; things continually falling off bathroom vanity because it is too; Bed sheets were not changed daily. Unpleasant odour in hallways.

10 out of 10. The Alfred Hotel was absolutely amazing. The staff is super friendly and always happy to help out. The exterior and interior of the building are kept up and maintained brilliantly. The room we stayed in was overlooking biking paths and a street yet we were able to enjoy sleeping at night with the windows wide open due to the quiet neighborhood around us. Very clean. The showers and bathrooms were updated and modern. Walking distance to anywhere you want to go in Amsterdam. Very close to museums and the canals. Everyone one on our trip agreed, we will all be staying at the Alfred Hotel the next time we are back in Amsterdam.

The hotel itself is very pleasant, however I feel like the images are very false promising due to the fact that our room we booked looked nothing like the pictures… We had been given a room upgrade to a triple room after booking the double room, obviously we were happy about this but I have a feeling if we were just able to stay in our original room it probably would have been a bit better as we didn’t need the spare bed.. The staff are really helpful, it’s just the fact that the interior of the whole building and the rooms isn’t how it’s made out to look online, for this reason being a probably wouldn’t stay here again. The lift needs some serious updating, it takes forever! And the stairs aren’t easy to find either. I feel like this hotel could do with a lot more TLC and it would be such a great hotel, the location is really good and close to the tram to get to the centre. However, the noise that you can hear from your room isn’t great! And on our stay we actually couldn’t sleep due to the noise outside, as scaffolding was being built next door!
