"Beautiful location. Food was very good. Room was clean if a little tired. I leave the new owners have addedly had the hotel for four months and imagine they will be working their way through upgrading. I wish them lots of luck it's a great hotel in a great location."

"Really lovely stay. The room was very spacious, spotlessly clean and well kept, with a modern bathroom. The spa was excellent, and it was especially nice to relax in the hot tub overlooking the mountains. Breakfast had a great range of options, including a hot breakfast and continental selection, and the food was excellent. Would definitely stay again. The only slight downside was the £10 parking charge, although I appreciate parking in the area is limited."

"It’s a hotel over a pub/restaurant. Rooms are old fashioned but clean. Bed was comfortable and shower worked just fine. Staff were helpful and friendly. Parking was on site and there was always a space available despite it being open to visitors. Beautiful view from the garden over the lake. Didn’t sample the breakfast as there was a small area to pick your food after which you walked over to the separate main dining area. Dinner was average."

"Great place to stay for Ambleside and the Lakes. Just five minute walk into town. Small room but you expect that in the Lakes. There is parking (it is very tight!). We didn’t see any staff but they sent us comprehensive self check in info. Everything you need for a couple of nights in Ambleside. Would definitely stay here again."
