"Lovely staff and good location "

"The reception staff were so friendly and always happy to help. Lovely to have access to a small spa after a day of walking, nice hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room. Good range of drinks at the bar. Free parking is a bonus and location was great only a 10min walk from Grasmere and a bus stop close to the hotel to reach Ambleside, Keswick and Kendall. Only thing that really lets the place down is the stained carpets!"

"Lovely clean and cosy room. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. Staff polite and helpful. Great entertainment on in the bar on the night we were staying. Would definitely recommend."

"Room was average for the price paid but overall looked tired. Very old pub and traditional rooms but that’s no reason to ignore mould and damage to the bathroom and paint flaking off the walls. Light fitting was hanging off by exposed wires. In the evenings the pub downstairs is busy with a lot of noise heard upstairs until about midnight. "

"The pub restaurant is good the room we got allocated was not good the noise traffic and light through curtains from street lights and day light was not good even the green light on ceiling WiFi unit was off putting and the 3 large windows in such small room is no good if you want a restful nights sleep if I was stay for longer than 1 night I would definitely asked for a room change the room was clean and tidy shame it was like this in the end !"

"We absolutely love this hotel as it has fantastic views to the lake, lovely comfortable rooms and excellent food. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them making the whole stay a real pleasure. We would have no hesitation recommending this hotel as a great place to stay."
