The biggest drawback is the lousy road full of potholes and only one lane leading up from the main road. We went to the area because we wanted to see the Bali Botanical Garden, which is nearby. It was a bit too far to walk, but the hotel quickly arranged a good driver for us. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully landscaped. It's actually like a miniature botanical garden. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant food was excellent."

The location is breathtaking, nestled right in the jungle, and we were thrilled to see monkeys and other wildlife right from our room. "I stayed at the Mason Park Lodge and it was exquisite from being picked up from my balcony by an elephant for my first dinner to seeing a white peacock with its tail out and 3 giant tortoises on my last day. Everything was very convenient with a beautiful scene at every turn from lush foliage to beautiful wildlife. I was surprised that the menu at the restaurant seemed ordinary in comparison to the surroundings, however the food was well cooked and presented with as with everything else wonderful smiling service. Of course there were elephants at every turn, truely a memorable stay and experience."
