"Night reception didn't know where rooms were so took us the longest, most complicated way to the rooms. Once there rooms were on different floors.

"**Disappointing Experience with "Sea View" Room**
We booked a "Sea View" room, paying extra to ensure we could look directly out onto the ocean, as advertised. However, upon arrival, our room faced a building, and we could only see the sea by looking to the side, which was far from the expectations set by the photos associated with our room category. "Had a fantastic stay at Psaras. This was our 2nd time & equally enjoyable. Comfy beds, constant hot water, great position for restaurants, bars etc & maid service regularly.
The only thing to mention is on our previous visit we could use the pool at the hotel in front. We were told we couldn’t do that any more as it’s an all inclusive hotel & it’s not free to use the pool/beds like it was 4 yrs ago. Otherwise all good "

"This was our first stay at a “boutique“ hotel. But it will not be our last. We loved the adult only aspect, and after the craziness of several days in Athens, it was the perfect antidote. The property is lovely and the staff is wonderful. We were greeted by name when we arrived and they never asked for a name or room number again. They just know who you are. I just wish we’d had more time. If we’re ever in Crete again, will definitely be back."

"Stayed as a family of 4 for 9 days in mid August 2025, 2 adults and 2 children.
Positives:
Remote hill top location in Old Town Malia (10/10).
Villas with private 10m to 15m length pools (10/10).
Overall the teams were very helpful and did their best to support.
Amazing views of Malia from your balcony from the hill top location (10/10).
Notable mentions; Alexia at the front desk,
New lady in the restaurant from Romania, Male supervisor / manager who helped us after we got locked out of the villa with 2 keys at night.
Private pool chemical level being checked.
Met the new owner at dinner whilst the teams were stressfully trying to work out our bill for a new menu and he said he his aware of what they need to improve on and service is not were he wants it to be.
Negatives:
Attention to detail I.e. 1 bed was missing its top cover for the first 3 nights.
Very easy to lock yourself out of the villa because of the safety feature on the doors.
Service in the restaurant needs to be improved / missed opportunity from the hotel due to isolated location.
Catering options are very limited / Menu cards are confusing / Not clear what you have ordered and what you are paying for.
Nightly disturbances from staffing quarters into the early morning (stayed in villa 407).
No locks on the bathroom or toilet doors.
Hot water in the tap & shower is extremely boiling hot.
Toilet / Shower room on the lower floor in the 2 bedroom villas should have a solid divider as water gets everywhere."

"Our maisonette was huge. Towels and bedding changed frequently but the floors were not swept meaning sandy beds a few days. I would happily of brushed them had there been a brush. The aircon upstairs was brilliant. Downstairs was ancient and needs replacing. The cover actually fell of the wall onto my daughters bed!
Breakfast was better earlier on around 9ish. You cpukd always get a sunbed too which is a bonus. Bar prices were similar to town and snack menu was good.
It was a little too far out for us though but on the flipside it offered peace and quiet."
