Check in was a total mess, it was sorted eventually but with much of the initial Bland being placed on us, that wasn’t the case. Bureaucratic entry time-based system for breakfast … 08:00 slot and there was 3 other people in the room. I would not stay here again. Very poor staff, often absent from the front desk. The property was overheated, at least the window opened because it was impossible to chill the room. I had booked for three people, every had to registered and provide a credit card.

Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your impressions following your stay. Please be informed that check-in time is 3 PM at the Golden Tulip of Aix-les-Bains. As you arrived early around 1 PM our entire Front Desk Team did its best to accommodate you and your 2 mates as soon as we could. Your booking faced a technical error, which again, our team did its best to fix as quickly as possible while being professional and available for you. Our Front Desk is open 24/7 with at least 2 Receptionists per shift so that you can always be helped. Moreover, if the room is too hot for you, please be informed that we can manage the temperature from the Reception, our guests only have to call and we lower the heat. For security reasons, every guest that has a room booked here has to present an ID card as well as a credit card, it is our policy to avoid any fraud. To conclude, the time-based system for breakfast has been established for the comfort of our guests so that everyone has a table as well as food on the buffet.Best regards,

Great for kids.
Great for kids. Rooms new and clean. Staff extremely good. Great location. Just be aware there is renovation right now but it didn’t bother us as it was only noisy when we were out in the day.

Comfortable hotel very central
This is a lovely hotel, spacious and comfortable. I had a standard room and it was quite big if a little spartan. The toilet is separate from the bathroom which makes it a bit small when the door is shut. Don’t know why, but lots of hotels think a big shallow oblong basin looks good. It might look good but they are not useable and waste a lot of water.

Effort on the parking
A very good place for a city-break. Comfortable hotel with a kind staff. The SPA is really nice as well. The only thing we disliked was that we had to pay for the parking.

Faded Property with Lackluster Service
Planned a weekend trip to Aix-les-Bains to 'take the waters' at Golden Tulip and the connected Spa, only to find out upon trying to enter the spa that they required extra purchases special swimsuits totaling EU 28. The Hotel staff was not helpful in explaining why there was this requirement, or why these charges were not clear when booking, and wouldn't let us cancel the room either. Overall, while the room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was decent, the property was not managed to the same level as other four-star properties in France: laundry carts were left in the hallways for hours, signage to breakfast was unclear, and the grounds needed better upkeep. Perhaps fine for a business trip, but not for a weekend getaway.

Aix le Brains is an ideal location to base yourself from for a tour around the national park and surrounding area. The drives and scenery were remarkable. The town itself, I can not coment upon as we did not explore it beyond the immediate area.

Great Stay!
The Golden Tulip is likely one of the best hotels in Aix les Bain. It is very conveniently located (if you’re in town for the thermal baths or casino) near the center of town. The staff was helpful and friendly with suggestions.

Very nice when not too busy
Very nice hotel, close to the casino and train station. Very nice pool (1st floor) for swimming a bit, warm water level. The spa (floor -1) is even nicer but just too busy, especially on weekends. That ruins a bit the potentially great experience, maybe providing prebooked entry slots would help. The breakfast is nice too, just also too crowded on weekends. I had to wait for 10 mins before even getting a table on Sunday. The new cosy rooms are nice and modern, maybe you can hear a bit too much of the party outside though. Overall I was happy and will stay here again.

Nous avons du partir précocement pour un décès. Nous ne sommes restés qu’une nuit sur les 4 prévues. Aucun remboursement ni même dédommagement n’a été envisagé. Aucune réponse n’a été formulée par l’hôtel lui même. Uniquement grâce à Hôtels.com qui nous a tenus informés. C’est honteux.
