"The only thing we did not like is that we wished we had stayed longer. The property provided transportation from the port and to drop us off at the port upon check out. Honda was incredibly helpful, outgoing and kind to us. The property and rooms are clean. A short walk to the main tourist attraction. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Hotel Nikko Alivila is a fantastic resort in a prime location, situated mid-island in Okinawa. It offers the perfect balance—easy access to the quieter, scenic northern areas, yet still close enough to Naha for cultural sites like the Okinawa Peace Memorial Museum and some downtown excitement.
The hotel itself is packed with amenities and activities. There’s a stunning white sand beach with crystal-clear water, paddleboarding, Sea-Doo rentals, and even tubing behind boats. The pool is spotless, and the tiki bar serves great cocktails in a laid-back setting.
We stayed on the top floor of the North Wing, and the sunset views over the chapel were absolutely breathtaking—don’t miss it if you can book this room!
Dining is excellent. We tried the Ryukyu/Japanese restaurant on-site, and the food was both authentic and delicious. Just next door, there’s a shopping center with a cozy coffee bar (surprisingly playing country western music!) and some great casual eats like burgers, burritos, and sandwiches.
The staff were phenomenal—genuinely attentive, friendly, and abundant. You feel very well taken care of from the moment you arrive.
One tip: rent a car. There’s no public transit nearby, and taxis or Ubers would add up quickly. I was a bit nervous about driving on the left side, but it was easy to get used to—and totally worth it for the flexibility.
