Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Acequias?
The best time to visit Acequias is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer pleasant weather, with warm days and cool evenings, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the area. The landscape is particularly lush in spring, and the autumn brings beautiful colours to the surrounding hills. This climate is great for outdoor activities like hiking and enjoying the local cuisine al fresco.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will find these seasons particularly appealing. The milder temperatures allow for leisurely strolls through the olive groves and along the Acequia Grande, a historic irrigation channel that gives the village its name. Many of the local guesthouses and restaurants have terraces that are lovely for enjoying the views during these months.

For solo travellers seeking a peaceful retreat, spring and autumn provide a wonderful environment for reflection and relaxation. The village is generally quieter outside of the peak summer holiday season, allowing for a more authentic experience of rural Andalusian life.
