"I stayed at the Angel hotel for a few days over October half term with my husband and children (7and 10). I have many good things to say about it. Firstly the location is perfect for a city break. It is moments from the castle and city centre which makes a visit to the area so easy. Cardiff has so many attractions it’s perfect for a family break. The staff we met there were all lovely and so helpful - from the friendly receptionist, breakfast staff and housekeeping. We were always treated with a smile and hello. The beds were comfortable, rooms warm and spacious and the breakfast delicious, The negatives are all related to the same thing really - the building itself needs some love and money spending on it, It looks and feels tired. The carpets on the corridors and stairs are wearing out, the walls are chipped and the car park is pretty scary in the dark - doesn’t feel very safe. The hotel has such a great history and character. It needs so investment to bring it back to its former glory - not modernise all the soul out of it though as it’s a gem, My family were very happy there and would definitely return"
