3 star Hotels in Lichtenberg

I really enjoyed my stay at TRYP by Wyndham Berlin City East. The staff was attentive to my needs. My room was minimalistic but comfortable. The hotel is in a great location. It's located in a quiet part of East Berlin. It's walking distance from the Frankfurter Alle U Bahn station. The hotel is also close to the quirky Friedrichshain neighborhood. I would definitely use this hotel again

The hotel is now renamed as Hotel Mardin Karlshorst. Location was in Karlshorst, a bit outside of city, with tram connection to suburban train (S-Bahn). Room was clean and had Asian ambience. Hotel staff members were friendly and talkative. Breakfast was 8 EUR per person and was acceptable.

Although the room was small, and the amenities were somewhat lacking, the staff made up for this.

Get what you paid for. Thin walls can hear neighbors and neighbors can hear you, so if you have young kids you are constantly telling them to be quiet. Small rooms however comfortable. Internet was hit or miss, sometimes you could get the signal and other times you cannot so do not rely on it. Restaurant service was horrible if you spoke English and sat down first and others sat after you, you will be the last to get a menu. However, the bartender was very nice and on tops of drinks regardless if, you spoke English or German. Front desk was very helpful and spoke English. Parking was okay you pay for it, and it is very tight but reasonable to leave car there all day and take the train into town, which is just a block or two down the road.

We were overall very satisfied with our stay in the hotel. We had not realised that it was not so central to Berlin and that does need some longer travel into and out of the city but that is interesting in itself. It gave us a very comfortable base to visit the city.

We are a family of three and stayed in a room by ourselves with bunk beds, single beds and our own bathroom, TV and wifi with shower gel, soap and towels provided. The room was clean and spacious. It was easily accessible by tram and we were able to get from the airport easily and into the centre of town without much fuss. It was in the B zone for transport so was fairly cheap for getting around. We stayed for three nights and slept well in between visiting almost all the museums in Berlin. We visited the DDR museum, The Spy museum, Checkpoint Charlie, The Games Museum, The Technic Museum, The Museum of Everything, and went to markets and ate out well. The hotel has maps and lots of little cards about attractions that give you money off deals and the staff all speak good English. We paid extra money to have breakfast everyday, where you could eat as much as you liked. It meant that we didn't need to have a lot for lunch as it kept you going all day.

I would highly recommend this hotel - directly opposite Lichtenberg U+S-Bahn station, an easy 8-stop hop into the centre. Also extremely convenient location to get to Schonefeld Airport. There is also 3 separate shops nearby for day-to-day items such as toothpaste, water, alcohol (although not necessarily a day-to-day product!) etc. The rooms, although basic in terms of facilities (and the vague background smell of cigarette smoke) were extremely clean and the shower was top-notch. The hotel breakfast was very good, with plenty on offer each day. Even better, if you purchase the bed and breakfast option, if you are unable to have breakfast for one day during your stay (as was our case when we had to catch a flight very early in the morning) they will prepare you a packed lunch for the trip (complete with boiled eggs!). All staff were extremely friendly and helpful Overall, cannot really fault this hotel and would highly recommend!
