"Overpriced "
Yes, the rates are high- but even higher are the charges for food and drinks and snacks. When the bucket of popcorn my grandson wanted was $24.00 and a bottle of pop was $2.50- I felt like I was at the circus! We were stuck at the venue with no other options. The resort is geared for young children - not designed for singles or older children.

"Needs some upgrades, but overall, nice"
I've read other reviews about the staff and I don't think they were rude Just not trained well (the one exception was Francis, who was a complete sweetheart, greatly enjoyed meeting her). Upon check-in, the young man at the front desk handed me my room key and told me my room number and WiFi password, but nothing else. I had to ask what floor, where the elevators were located, pool hours, etc. He was a little aloof and I can see how this would be perceived as rude, but again, just seemed untrained on customer relations. The room is comfortable and clean, but the bathroom desperately needs to be upgraded. It was inconvenient to have the tub, toilet, sink and closet all in one location. Wouldnt be too hard to section off the toilet and tub from the sink and closet making it more accessible to others in the room. Just my two cents. Pool temp was a little cold for an indoor pool, but the kids didn't seem to mind:)

"Top-notch La Quinta"
Beautiful lobby, clean and comfortable breakfast area, helpful and pleasant staff, large and comfortable suite - all in addition to being welcoming to those travelling with a pet. My only concern would be that the shower area was in need of a re-do (cracked tiles, poor lighting).

"Lots of history"
We have stayed at the Golden Lamb in the past and have enjoyed the facility, but I have to say, just because it's an historical landmark, there is no need for the room to be so shabby. The room and bath was clean to be sure, but we put a towel on the towel rack and the rack fell out off the wall. The drainage in the tub was just a hole and the bathroom door didn't close and a chunk of paint/plaster was hanging from the ceiling by the door. It is the little things.

Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown Hotel - Cincinnati Hotels

Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown Hotel

36 East Fourth Street, Cincinnati - Map
My wife and I went to Garth Brooks concert, ate dinner at Pies and Pints, then a short walk later we landed at the Renaissance Hotel. After a lot of walking around in boots, the bed was so comfortable and relaxing that we had to ask for a late checkout, which was grated without issue. Great place to stay downtown.
