Clean beautiful and quiet. Wonderful and polite staff. Accessible to nearby attractions restaurants and gorgeous scenery. The very best accommodations I have EVER experienced. The condo had everything you need. Large rooms lovely kitchen and dining area and a washer/dryer!! Wonderful for families!

This isn't a fancy place, but the staff is friendly and everything is clean (not immaculate, but clean). Our villa/townhouse was massive for the price (and just two of us!). The hot tub is large and open all year (although the outdoor pool is not). We did not use the indoor pool or fitness center. Convenient location to many area attractions. It was a 10-12 minute drive to William and Mary. We had a two-bedroom, and the queen bed was nice; the king bed, unfortunately, was a bit saggy. :( Overall, I'd recommend for a budget-friendly place to stay with the family.

Had to share a washer and dryer with my neighbors who always had wash going so never got to use the machine. Pool area was dirty kids were running around unattended. Pool water was cloudy and dirty. Game room was outdated. Property said it had activities but none were available for our stay! The neighbors were so loud it sounded like elephants running around on rampage!

Three adults and two children 6 3 had a fantastic stay at Colonies. The 2 bedroom suite was perfect-large, quiet and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The kids loved the pool and had so much fun. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely go back.

This property was fantastic overall! We had a two bedroom unit (one king, one queen) with two HUGE bathrooms! The kitchen was well appointed with everything you need (even if you want to bake). There were only two things that could have been improved. 1- the makeup lamp attached to the wall wouldn’t stay locked in place. Oh well, I just used the wall mirror. 2 - We turned on the jet tub and black particles came out! Mold or debris? I can’t say for sure, so I would avoid using it. The front desk staff was lovely! We went to the game room; it’s been there quite a while, with a few games such as a small pool table, Wheel of Fortune Pinball, PacMan, a hockey table that looks like it’s been there since the 60’s, a grab machine, and I may be missing one other game. The rest of the room had tables and it was decorated nicely for Easter. Our 9 year old played but was marginally entertained. We did not get to enjoy the pool but did walk inside. It was very well done; there’s even basketball nets in the pool with plenty of balls. The pool goes to 5 feet, from what I could see. In March, the outdoor pool & entertainment area was closed, of course, but it looked amazing! There was plenty of parking…the spaces are a bit tight with so many large SUV’s but we all fit. The property is very quiet and a couple of miles from shopping, gas, and plenty of food options. There are several pancake houses and Mexican restaurants. This property is a about 20 minutes from Busch Gardens.

Very clean, peaceful and beautiful property. We had a whole apartment. Two bedrooms and two huge bathrooms. One with walking shower and the other one with jacuzzi. Big kitchen with dining area. And the best of all, we had our own washer and dryer in the apartment.

Problem checking in. The keys did not open the correct door. Thought staff had mixed up A and B so we tried B and it opened the door, only to walk in on people renting that suite. Not a great first impression.

We had to make several visits to the main office to get our parking pass due to limited guest services hours. We also had very noisy work going on in the accommodation above ours that lasted hours with no notice.

Upon check-in, we were assigned a room that had not been cleaned. The beds were unmade. We went back to the desk and went to the next assigned room. The beds had NO linens. Finally, the third room was adequate. The desk staff was polite and apologetic, but this was very inconvenient. They offered an additional night at no charge but we could not stay longer than we had scheduled.

This property was well maintained. However, there were some "dated" decor and older carpet in the hallway going to the unit, but the office area and pool were really nice. We would stay here again if in the area.

I've had better experiences, but still good.
I always love staying at The Colonies. I had even stayed in this exact same unit the week before. I let them know about three issues with the room, but the didn't fix any of the issues, so now that there were 2 people staying, we had to share one shower because the 2nd bathroom shower wasn't working properly. (Yes, we know how to use the guest shower, so it wasn't us.) Luckily, we were able to fix the tv in the living room on this stay, but we still had to work the remote in an awkward way to get the tv to turn on and volume to go up or down. The dishwasher was still getting clogged up, so it was basically just recycling old water, which is gross. Also, the front door to the building had duct tape all over it so anyone could come into the building. Nothing extreme, I just wonder why they would put me in that building when it is definitely their slow season and there were plenty of options for other locations. The staff also told me that I had to pay the Resort Fees, despite my reservation stating that I got my resort fee covered for 4 people during each day of my stay and I have never had an issue with this location before. Luckily, a hotels.com representative was able to get that refunded.

A great first stay
This was our first time staying here, we usually stay at Vacation Village but wanted to try something new. The room was clean, roomy and comfy. Enjoyed the table and the chairs on the balcony and even the fireplace since it was cooler. On that note, we didn't check out out the pool. haha Our only dislike was only being able to park one car at the unit and the other at the overflow. But that won't discourage us to stay there again.
