The one bedroom suite was clean, quiet and comfortable.
Marco was very nice and picked us up from the ferry and dropped us off there when we checked out.
Great short cut path into town 10 minute walk on a cobblestone type path.
No air conditioning but the closed
shutters during the day kept out the heat from the sun.
Peaceful an quiet for a family of four.
We stayed for 4 nights at the end of May and were greeted by the very friendly and informative hotel owner who provided us with lots of tips and information on Bellagio. The rooms were of a good size, very clean and comfortable.
It is located within walking distance to Bellagio and we were treated to an excellent breakfast each morning with freshly brewed coffee. The staff were always very helpful and gave us a lift to the ferry terminal on our last day.

Hotel staff was very welcoming and even had a happy hour that included drinks and some snacks that were simple yet tasty. Rooms are rustic but clean and comfortable. Hotel is located up the hill in Bellagio so you need to be sure you are able to walk up the hill (some shops and restaurants are up the hill as well so in some ways it is an advantage). Grocery store (mini market) was within two minutes walk. Kitchen was essentially a kitchenette (small) but functioned quite well. Center of Bellagio which has the ferry docks is about a 7 minute walk. Plenty of room to spread out - perfect for families. Air conditioning functioned quite well. No laundry facilities but there is a 24 hour laundromat in the center of Bellagio 7-10 minutes walk from the Bethusy apartment/hotel.
For those coming to Bellagio from the south, taking the local train from Milan (Milano Centrale station) to Varenna-Essino (1 hour train ride), and then taking ferry from Varenna over to Bellagio (15 minutes) is a better option than taking the train to the town of Como and then taking a ferry from Como to Bellagio as the Como-to-Bellagio ferry does not run more than every few hours and can take up to 2 hours to get to Bellagio. Just make sure that you purchase your return tickets from Varenna to Milan ahead of time as the Varenna-Essino train station does not have a ticket window (you can also buy them at any tobacco shop, which there are many).
Would definitely stay here again.

My husband & I really enjoyed this hotel. Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking the gorgeous pool and the town Varenna across Lake Como. It was enjoyable to listen to the band playing in the evenings by the pool. Our room was very clean and had excellent bedding. The breakfast buffet was very good and had many choices. This hotel was in walking distance to Villa Carlotta, so great location. We took the boat to visit other towns on the lake. It rained but we were prepared with poncho's and umbrellas. Lake Como is beautiful in all weather conditions! We hope to return to this hotel in the future!
Paolo and his family provided us with the best stay. The villa has excellent location, comfortable facilities, the pool has a magnificent view to the lake and service is great! It has become our address in Lake Como. No need to look further!

As soon as we arrived, Paola greeted us to sit on the lake shore patio with a glass of wine and some cheese. She is a marvelous host and made an exceptional stay in Lake Como extra special. The town of Griante, where the hotel is located is very convenient with a picturesque short 2-300 yard walk to the ferries to Bellagio, Varano and Menaggio. We had a car so we drove to Como. Free hotel parking is available across the street. If you are not use to driving on the narrow streets of Italy; It is a harrowing experience. There are some restaurants to walk to near the hotel. My wife really enjoyed the dinner at the hotel Alberghetto La Marianna restaurant, I did not wish to eat dinner there a second time but that is personal choice. Also the menu has only one but changing daily fixed dinner choice on the menu. The excellent breakfast had scrambled eggs offered as well as yogurt, cereal, meat, cheese, fresh fruit, juice, jams and pastry.
We were in Lake Como area late September, some lake activities were not available.
ONE IMPORTANT MESSAGE if you are driving to the hotel from the north or southeast using a GPS make sure to check the NO FERRIES option OR you will be on the wrong side of the lake needing to take a car ferry
