This hotel is a jewel on Lake Como! The room we were in has a balcony that looks onto the lake. Amazing view all day. The breakfast was amazing and dinner was exceptional. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel!
The location of this property is absolutely fantastic. The staff at the reception were so nice and kind above and beyond customer experience. The man at the bar who prepared our welcome drinks was super sweet. The room was just amazing, though we did not have a view from our room we were so tired when we arrived that we just slept. We didn’t hear any noise. We had an amazing experience, definitely coming back.
Beware of a bait and switch on rooms. We booked this hotel specifically because we wanted a lake view room. We booked a lake view room, and then wrote them to confirm we had a lake view room (they confirmed that). Upon arrival, the room we were given had no view of the lake. As reported on other platforms, we are not the only guests who have had this problem, so beware. While the hotel did offer compensation, it also refused to move us to lake view room even after one opened up without a significant upcharge. The junior suite is also very small; in fact, I'm not sure what qualifies it as a suite, as there is no extra in-room space. The bathroom provides little privacy, as there is no wall separating it from the bed area, and toilet is shielded only by a frosted glass barrier that does not go floor to ceiling. However, the restaurant is excellent, both as to food and staff. I would recommend it for a nice dinner.
Right on Lake Como, our 4th floor room (405) had three windows, two directly overlooking the water, the third overlooking the bustling central district of Bellagio. While the building itself is classic, the rooms were brand new. With the windows open we had a front row seat to Lake Como from morning light to the golden hour. Linens, bed and pillows, perfect. Decor, chic. Completely comfortable. And the staff, excellent. Fabio helped us arrange a private tour of the inside of Villa Balbianello, an excellent experience that we would have missed without the hotel’s help due to needing to make reservations 30 days in advance. We were greeted with excitement, given a table right on the water at our later arrival for lunch, and cared for at every interaction. The included breakfast was excellent (best Panettone I have ever had!), good hot meal choices as well. Dinner recommendation to Bilacus Restaurant was perfect (eat there!!). We felt spoiled and welcomed as if we were part of the family. Will absolutely stay at Palazzo Genazzini at our next trip to Lake Como and Bellagio!
