Booked this hotel on a whim and the good reviews it already had. I wasn't disappointed at all. The hotel is small but the staff are very, very welcoming. The hotel has a charm about it. It is just round the corner from the main street and the monkey forest but far enough away that it was quiet and peaceful.
The room was spacious and had everything a good hotel room needs, including fancy lighting options! The pool was nicely designed and was a good place to meet other tourists. Overall I think this hotel offers fantastic value for money.
Wonderful hotel, nothing we could fault. It is only a year or so old and looks it. The staff were lovely and attentive, but not in your face. The shuttle into town five times a day was great, especially that you could call them up outside that time and pay 80,000rp to be collected so no hassle with taxis. There were free activities including a village walk through the rice fields. You could also walk into town on a route only for bicycles and walkers - took about 30mins and was lovely in the late arvo. Wonderful pool and good food from the restaurant, though we did eat out most days for variety. Highly recommended!!
Surpassed expectations. Well appointed, large rooms with great balconies/patios. Serene surrounds, lovely pool and great staff. Good location and the restaurant was fabulous. Breakfast, coffee and meals were a highlight. The bed was super comfortable, infact the only downside was leaving. This is the best luxury accomodation we have experienced in bali and well worth the $ spend. Alaya did not disappoint!
I always like the idea of staying at a villa and was great to learn that we had the one and only pool villa. We loved the pool and the room itself is fantastic! It is a 4.5 stars resort so don't expect 5 star treatment... the food wasn't fantastic but what a great nasi goreng you make at the restaurant! Overall we were pretty happy and met some amazing staff.
Great hotel - slightly out of town, but they provide shuttle buses into Ubud town centre fairly regularly. The grounds feel very authentic and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We'd definitely go back if we ever return to Bali.
Wonderful experience since checking in to leaving. We were here for 6 days and absolutely loved it! Central to everything, their shuttle service around town was amazing. The staff is genuine, kind and professional.they really try hard to make your stay wonderful. They remembered that it was our anniversary and filled our tub with petals upon arrival with a card. They recognized us by name everyday. Great value for what we paid! 5 star experience! On our last day they said thank you and offered us a complimentary spa massage. We will be recommending this hotel to all our friends! And we would definitely return when come back to bali. Thank you for the hospitality!
My friend and I stayed at the safari park and lodge for one night. We had an incredible time. The staff were very friendly and I was very impressed to be greeted by a personalised itinerary when we checked in. This really helped us to make the most of our time there. It was amazing to be chauffeured to dinner by an elephant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bali and would definitely go again!
It was our first family holiday in 7 years and we'd never been to Bali before so didn't know what to expect - but Wapa di Ume was amazing! We'd initially planned to do lots of travelling round, but in the end, we stayed at the hotel quite a lot! Good location, a little way out from Ubud but the shuttle is so convenient. The staff can't do enough for you, the grounds are beautiful, the food is great. We also did a really great cooking class with Wapa - on reflection it probably would have been cheaper to do it somewhere else but the market visit was amazing! We really enjoyed our stay and would love to go back!

The location of the Waka Di ume in Bali is very close to the centre of the Ubud village. The resort is situated by the side …More
Ubud is the arts and cultural centre of the island. This charming mountain settlement is 25 km (1 hour’s drive) north of Denpasar and comprises 14 villages dotted with palaces, temples, museums, galleries, shops, arts and crafts, and excellent restaurants. Other than a few nightspots, village life is quiet and serene. Don’t miss the nightly traditional dance performances and nearby Monkey Forest Park.
