Dad and I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights and we were both very disappointed with our stay having previously stayed in lovely Novotels.

As I placed the plastic card in the holder to operate the light, the cover broke off. There was no electric which was inconvenient. Unfortunately, it was at 11:20pm. A quick repair was made by a staff member using blu tack! A further repair was made in the morning, sellotape still remains on the cover! Two small plastic pieces remain on the floor which had not been hoovered up. An apology was given from the maintenance guy but reception's attitude was "these things happen". I noticed it was loose on check in. Surely a housekeeping issue to report to maintenance?
My Dad aged 77 requested a bath mat 3 times (on the 3rd occasion a bath mat was delivered. He had already gone 1 day without one. This is not good when he is not good on feet
Both toilets were difficult to flush
There was mould within the shower cubicle seal.
The pillows were not comfortable.
There wereno sachets of hot chocolate, bottled water, robes or slippers etc. It felt as though corners have been cut.
Breakfast was like faulty towers. The tea making facilities were out of order for 2 days. I had to ask for bowls, milk, the hot water flask was empty.
The swimming pool was warm but changing room was tiny. There were no bags for wet costume or a machine to help dry it.
Check out time is at 12 which was good.
Location is good for the city centre.
