Casa Grande Do Bachao
4.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (90)
"The road was long and windy to get there, but the welcome and beauty of the place vastly made up for it! The property is less than 30 minutes from the center of Santiago, located in a green valley. The main house dates from the early 18th century, with thick granite walls, and has been wonderfully restored with all modern comfort (including good wifi!). "I really enjoyed my rest here after my Camino de Santiago. It was small, but I was solo and didn't need much room. It was facing to the inside so very quiet. It's placed on a small quiet street. A little hard to find, but once you get used to it, no problem. Everywhere is relatively close in Santiago old town."

Compostela Hotel
4.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (804)
"Staff was excellent, everyone was very nice. The hotel itself was clean and in good condition, but pretty straightforward without a lot of embellishments. No pictures on walls, no color in the rooms. Rather bland for a four star hotel. Breakfast was OK, but a little underwhelming, also. But, we certainly had enough to get the day started. Location of hotel was very good. "

"Tiny huts. Erratic hot water supply. Very sparse kitchen equipment. Beds only designed for short thin people. Cigarette buds everywhere on the grounds. Not terribly clean. Nice pool and good food and coffee in the local brasserie. "
