One night stay here. Staff were helpful and got us checked in quickly after a late arrival. Room was clean and tidy and had everything we could need. Great breakfast in the morning
Hotel Odín a very good location. Rooms are spacious and clean. AC works ok. The cleaning crew would turn it off while they were doing the room so in the afternoon when we would come back, the room was hot. Other than that everything was good
Great hotel. Only issue was the location…not that far from the cathedral but had to walk under the highway and over the train station to get to a section of town with restaurants and bars, and the cathedral sites. Good parking structure also.
Nice hotel a short walk out of town close to large department store. Room was excellent the hotel also had a small gym. Food was mixed, breakfast buffet selection was only ok but dinner options and food quality good.
It was outside the historic town. Not too ideal if you are a tourist with limited time. It’s near the bus and train station though so it’s also convenient. Not a lot of restaurants around the area. I travelled with young kids and it would have been better if we booked near the old city center.
The plush reception area gives a great first impression, although the quality of the rooms does not quite match it. There was no complimentary water, no kettle to use and not enough towels. A suitcase weighing machine in reception would also be a useful addition.
On the positive side, the bed was incredibly comfortable, with a choice of soft or firm pillows. The blackout blinds were excellent and there was very little noise, so we slept really well. The staff were also friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
We ate in the restaurant and found the food fairly average, although certainly not bad.
The hotel is around a 20-minute walk from the cathedral and the route felt safe and well lit in the evening. One thing worth knowing is that getting a taxi back can be a bit of a nightmare. Uber and Bolt are not really used in Santiago, so you generally need to ring a local taxi company. If you do not speak Spanish, you may need to ask someone to help arrange one.
Overall, a comfortable stay with some very good points, although a few small touches would make a noticeable difference.
We finished walking the Camino Portuguese. We were exhausted, needing a couple of days to recover. My husband and I couldn't have asked for more. The room was perfect. It was spacious, well appointed and so comfortable. The staff went above and beyond the entire time we were there. We especially loved Pilar, but the entire staff was perfect. The breakfast was spectacular. There were so many options, it was hard to choose what to eat. We also are dinner at the hotel. Delicious. Couldn't ask for more.
Our room was ready at check in before noon, a real plus. Great location with secure parking and an easy 20 min walk to the old town and Cathedral. Very kind front desk staff.
